232, 249, 448, 449 all of which are 47mm Radiomirs, my choice would lean towards the PAM210.

It has few advantages over the bigger models. It's a 45mm (no monster to be strapped to the wrist unless YOU choose it). It has a quintessential 3-6-9-12 Panerai dial, it can be found at reasonable prices and gives you the chance to decide if 45mm does it for you or you need a 47mm. You can find some NOS or LINB pretty easily. You NEED the bigger version? PAM232....

Ciao

The 449. The wire lugs and the minimalist dial take the cake, in my opinion. It's very elegant and restrained too, for a Panerai. I think this is because of the blues hands. The wire lug Radiomir wears beautifully for me too. ...

What about

A 1950 case Luminor? 422 or 372, simple and lots of "DNA"

But then, I've never had an issue with the dimentions of Panerai watches. For those who have though (and there are a fair few out there) the 210 offers an acceptable alternative.
