Is that most of the dealers that I have spoken to for both used and new pieces say that greatest demand is for 40mm...(amongst normal watch buying public, probably not those who frequent internet forums!)

even Panerai CEO said in an interview most important bread and butter watch is PAM 50.

Ironically, the rarest models are 40mm...

Here's wishing for 1950 in 40mm....but if I hold breath any longer, I'll look like a smurf

Looking at SIHH this year I've noticed that Panerai hasn't released anything in the 40mm Luminor case size and over the last few years there hasn't been many new 40mm releases period. I would guess its because the 44mm models and above sell a lot better b...  

Hopefully Panerai will release some 40mm Luminors
