I just can't stand that what I consider to be an ugly-ass crown guard. Remove that and for me it would be perfect.

Remove that, and the exact same watch would be called a Radiomir rather than a Luminor ;-)

Definitely, we are speaking of two a priori equally legitimate Panerai lines, in my view, both with a very clear identity. Here's my only Luminor, in front of...myself at age 21! ;-) Cheers.

Sure, though some may argue the Radiomir is more historically significant than the Luminor -- I am no expert, but for me it's hard to think of Panerai without thinking of both lines after 70+ years😉👍

It is part of Panerai DNA. It was their solution for the water resistance of their watches.

But Panerai is all about simplicity and legibility.... Hey, one out or two ain't bad!... so 50% out of character but it's super cool and I love it!

I do like it, it's definitely a dial that stands out among several similar offerings -- but I agree, depending on what your position is on the brand, either you'll love it or you'll hate it! ;-) Enjoy.

and it’s very true! Ever since then, when looking at it closely and noticing the texture and monotone color, I can only see it as how you describe. It’s the uniqueness of the dial that keeps me intrigued
