Who was seen wearing a Bronzo ....??

Dec 28, 2013,02:56 AM

Hi Ian

Good to hear from you.

I am scheduled to receive a PAM 507 early in the new year. Once I have received it I will decide whether to keep it and sell my 382 or hold onto my 382 and sell the 507 - lets wait and see.

You might or might not know but Panerai is owned by the Richemont Group a South African based company owned by the Rupert family.

The latest Forbes ratings which have just been published show the Rupert family at the No. 2 richest family in Africa.......worth US$7,9Bn.....adding US$2Bn to his stash in one year....so next time you are contemplating buying that new Panerai piece, you figure out who needs the money more ???

The group owns the following watch brands :

Cartier
Mont Blanc
Jaeger LeCoultre
IWC
Baume & Mercier
Vacheron Constantin
Roger Dubuis
Piaget, and of course
PANERAI

What is interesting is what the owner Johann Rupert has chosen to wear, with all he has to choose from......well for this pic at least !!!

I am new to the forum although I have bought / sold a number of Panerais over the years.....so I am guessing PM means..."Post Me" ???

I look forward to meeting you all in January.

I will "PM" you with my local mobile number when I arrive in Hong Kong on Friday 11 January.

Regards

Neil

There're quite a few second hand dealers around but we typically do not discuss about dealers on the forum here. Please feel free to PM me if you want to know more. Re: your PAM382, just curious, does it still look brand spanking new like this currently o...

Hon Kong visit....Bronzo

 By: neilz : December 27th, 2013-13:59
Hi Jester Thanks for responding to my post. I have only had the Bronzo for a few months - I traded two watches on it, a PAM 197 & PAM 384 with a dealer in the UK. When I first received it I fitted a new strap and gave it a good shine, it looked like a...

197 was a rare bird...

Surprised you didn't want to keep this for your wife as I would imagine the 197 would look even more elegantly on a lady's wrist than the 337. Now onto your newly acquired 382, I had exactly same thought when I first bought my 382. Just wasn't a big fan o...

Meet in Hong Kong.....great.

Hi Jester Yes, the 197 was a great piece but, as you know sometimes you just "move on" from a piece - that's what happened with me and the 197. It is a beauty but for me II was getting more into the 47mm. My wife did not want another gold piece - she has ...

Hi Neil, I am a local residence here, been a Paneristi for three years and accumulated a few limited pieces and still learning. I missed out the first Bromze, and got this one just before Christmas Eve, personally I like the power reserve indicator to rem...

Monsieur Rupert's choice of watch. Afterall, he was the mastermind behind the actual acquisition of OP so I can certainly see the emotional tie.
