The Mare Nostrum fits you perfectly, the others simply remind you that you have a Panerai on your wrist...I think you look good with all of them!😉 [nt]

They are simply too big.

 By: Arie - Mr Orange : March 12th, 2019-01:47
And according to some I’ve got Sasquatch wrists. Nevertheless 42 mm plus watches are not comfortable to wear. Fact. And I still own 2 PAMs and I have owned 2 more, but I will never buy one again. No matter how cool the design is. I do like the Mare Nostru...

Its all about the lugs and depth of the case

 By: Baron - Mr Red : March 12th, 2019-01:56
Some watches are designed to fit around a wrist better than others.

Agree, anything bigger as 42 is almost to big but sometimes they wear smaller .

 By: Watchonthewrists : March 12th, 2019-01:59
My LW is 44mm but still great on the wrist imho

Hard to wear anything over 40 for me...

 By: jaychang777 : March 12th, 2019-02:00
always loved the look of PAM, but too big - the 38 one doesn’t feel right either

Large watches seem to be the fashion now

 By: Poky : March 12th, 2019-02:29
Even 40 mm is too big, certainly for my wrist. I think a watch looks much nicer when the case and lugs sits shorter than the wrist margins.

And that's a men saying who allegedly has Yeti wrists :)

 By: crown comfort : March 12th, 2019-02:34
even needs to order extra links for a Rolex bracelet..

Wait, allegedly???

 By: zabreg1 Mr White : March 12th, 2019-03:12
It's a fact. The Yeti thinks PAMs are too large? Then, I definitely shouldn't have one.

You have one right? For water sports?

 By: Arie - Mr Orange : March 12th, 2019-10:34
A PAM should be used for it’s designed purpose. Being in or near (beach) the water.

Yes, used exclusively on the water.

 By: zabreg1 Mr White : March 12th, 2019-10:48
My titanium Frank the tank.

The a PAM is in its element.

 By: Arie - Mr Orange : March 12th, 2019-10:55
Maybe I should get a bracelet (if they have one???) for my historically ‘wrong’ PAM I’m not a fan of rubber. ...

Great photo. [nt]

 By: zabreg1 Mr White : March 12th, 2019-11:31

Agree that those are massive watches ...

 By: Greenwatch : March 12th, 2019-03:03
And maybe that’s the reason why the Luminor Due line was conceived and created.

I’m sure it was reason.

 By: Arie - Mr Orange : March 12th, 2019-10:43
But imo a Luminor Due is somewhat insane. On the one hand they make it thinner, but that crown clasp is still on there?! I don’t get that. A Radiomir Due, that I would understand.

Mare looks good

 By: Ares501 - Mr Green : March 12th, 2019-03:22
Yes PAM lost his allure a lot lately still 249 is one I wanna Cheers D

Oh yes.. great one...a keep PAM for me

Cheers D

Interested to know

What are your thoughts about the size of this piece. Do you wear this regularly. I am admiring a few versions of the radiomir but always hold back due to the size. The dial is so simple and charming.

This is a 2 years old 3D btw...

 By: sergio : February 10th, 2021-08:05
If the piece you're asking the size for is the PAM249 "Cali", it's a 47mm model. Ciao

Perfect for my 17 cm wrist.

 By: amanico : February 10th, 2021-09:39

That was the original idea.....

 By: sergio : March 12th, 2019-06:33
big and luminous. Big enough to see the time immediately through diving masks and luminous so that it could be done, at night underwater (where dark is REALLY dark). I agree with you and think that people that buy a 47mm Panerai for any other reason than....

Fully agree [nt]

 By: Arie - Mr Orange : March 12th, 2019-10:44

Oh come on now!

 By: GreatPilot@me.com : March 12th, 2019-10:15
What are you all smoking to say such a thing? I have a 6.75 inch wrist and pull off a 47mm fine within the edges of my wrist, it does look big But that’s because of the height of the case. Hell my wife wears a 40mm Hulk and a A&S moon phase 42mm all t...

I stopped smoking a very long time ago so; nothing.

 By: Arie - Mr Orange : March 12th, 2019-10:58
And it is not about what other people think or say (I don’t give a f either), it is about comfort.

Hello , i'm 2 47 mm Panerai and i must say that on my 18 cms wrist, it is confortable ....

 By: leopold : March 12th, 2019-14:25
Big watches, but this is the original style of Panerai since over 50 years !! Here my 721 on my wrist : But, i love the smaller watches too , and my last watch ( buy it last week) is a Rolex 114300 , only 39 mm ... Two confortable watches !!! ...

Great point Leopoid

 By: GreatPilot@me.com : March 12th, 2019-14:53
I have 6-7 Rolex, the Sky-Dweller and the Explorer II are the biggest at 42, the others are 40mm, they all look and fit great as well. My wife exclusively wears the Explorer II and the Hulk. Panerai is a cool watch and made big for good reasons, the Radio...

I know HODINKEE Would like the whole world to return to a 35 to 37 mm case.

 By: aperna : March 13th, 2019-09:48
However my collection mostly deals with tool watches. I have a very flat 7 inch rest. The surface is just over 55 mm. I feel comfortable wearing a 47 mm Panerai. I am also planning on picking up my new branzo that’s waiting for me at the Miami boutique th...

Arie, I apologize if I offended you,

 By: GreatPilot@me.com : March 12th, 2019-15:05
It wasn’t my intent, I did say what are ALL of you smoking so it wasnt personal, just my feeble attempt at humor. What are you smokeing is just a saying form long ago to tease. I started out with Panerai and they are big watches but I love being a Paneris...

Not offended at all!!!

(it made me smile; I probably should have added a happy emoticon or whatever in my reply) NB We are discussing watches (things) and every person has a different feel or opinion about them and (at least to me) here we should be free to discuss watches. Nob...

Good debate.....Jim

It depends on your wrist physiology

 By: reintitan : March 12th, 2019-17:37
If you have a relatively flat wrist (whether small or large total diameter) and the lugs of big watches don't overhang the sides they can look good on you. On the other hand (pun intended) if you have a relatively tubular wrist even if you are Sasquatch-s...

I make an exception for Panerai

 By: JohnFM : March 12th, 2019-17:50
36-38mm watches are generally my favorites. Even a 42mm Omega or Rolex looks and feels too big on my 6.8" wrist. Yet I own several 47mm Panerais. My wife and friends ask why I choose to wear a clock on my wrist! Part of the reason is that PAMs were design...

WOW...I've gotten a headache just....

 By: sergio : March 12th, 2019-18:28
reading all the brands and models you own and use. LOLLL After about 1 month of 249, all the other watches looked (to me) like gifts you can find inside an Easter egg and I stopped using them altogether. Nowadays, everything less than 44mm it would feel l...

A Flik Flak! I don't know what that is, but it sounds ... small!

 By: JohnFM : March 12th, 2019-19:19
True sergio, I have the bug. But I do sell from time to time too ;-) It is funny how I like Panerai and, at the same time, much smaller watches. Not sure it makes sense, but I gave up trying to make sense with watches long ago. Here are two more for you t...

during an already long life is that, when it comes to one's pleasure and doesn't hurt anybody around you...making sense...it's not indispensible. Just enjoy it, period BTW Flik-Flak is the kids line of Swatch...

They are..

Big and beautiful. And even though I don't find them uncomfortable (I wear them when I photograph on long trips) I find myself preferring 40mm watches (why I'm probably more leaning towards Rolex these days) and on a bracelet vs strap. But I love em. A co...

With a much smaller wrist I too wore many 44mm and flirted with the 47mm (127, 448 and 372).

 By: Jay (Eire) : March 13th, 2019-04:25
For me the 47mm were not uncomfortable but they didn't look right on my wrist. And today my eyes see pretty much anything above 40/41mm (depending on lug length / shape) to be pretty much too big. I do still enjoy my remaining PAM but I'm not sure I'd buy...

Got the same feeling

 By: Arie - Mr Orange : March 14th, 2019-06:27
38 - 40 mm is the sweet spot.
