I can understand your conflicted feeling....
I love the 202a and with such special provenance, even more delicious, but I must say you made the right choice with your MMR, till now out of all the MRs I have seen, it is the most unique and appealing, the combination of design and materials is sublime, its time will come, it needs more recognition, also we need an idea of how many were made in total, I think it is a very rare reference. Sometimes I feel JLC is too conservative with its marketing, it needs to be more loud and flashy so people can know. Like what Patek and AP do.

Agreed on both counts. This MM was a dream, but the MMR was and still is a grail. A strong love affair. As for the production numbers...
