Panerai Rolex 3646: How do you like it? California or " normal " dial?

 By: amanico : February 11th, 2022-22:40
" Cali ": " Normal ": Best, Nicolas ...

Very nice! I'm far from being a Panerai expert, but these Panerais are really fascinating! In particular, the second 3646 is the only other reference I've ever seen, besides the 721, with a non-California, anonymous dial! ;-)

There are several anonymous Cali dials, of course, even among the modern offering (including my 249)! However, has Panerai ever produced any other *non-California, anonymous* references besides the 721 and the 3646, modern or even vintage? Panerai's produ...

Yep...

Ah yes, but not a Rad!

No worries, my friend.

I like this Cali Luminor!

I remember one photo where you showed it with a black rubber strap during your holidays. I think it works even better with this brown leather strap. Looks really great, my friend!

Both nice! But I prefer the “normal”dial version

Born, raised, and live in California...

...you know the answer : )

2-1 for the normal, then. ;)

In this case the Cali

 By: MTR : February 12th, 2022-00:21
because on your photo it somehow exerts a special attraction on me. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I don't have a Panerai with Cali dial yet? Or that I already own a (modern) anonymous Radiomir with the “normal” design? Aka 721. ...

Both!! 😁

But the 249 could be a one Panerai watch for me..

Even if the luminor is more popular

She haunts my nights...

As a PANERAI (MM) reference, the 3646 Radiomir

 By: PoyFR : February 12th, 2022-04:05
The California dial is to me a Rolex reference and it is not doubt a nice piece too. For obvious reasons I would never consider a vintage (even re-run) 3646 with 3,6,9,12 unknown and unbranded, they give me goosebumps. ...

 By: PoyFR : February 12th, 2022-10:24
We all know that PANERAI was not essentially about watches. The family also owned a boutique and were agent and distributor for Vacheron Constantin, Longines, Rolex, Buren Watch, Angelus, Movado PANERAI that we know Guido Panerai e figlio. We civilians be...

Top right is an anonymous Kampfschwimmer dial with fake Rinaldi engravings.

 By: pereztroika : March 6th, 2022-03:39
Hello Yves, the story of how our Tuscan amico came into possession of dozens of anonymous Kampfschwimmer dials is quite interesting. They were found at the old Arturo Junghans watch factory in La Giudecca, Venice in the early 1990s . At the time, the old ...

Thank you José for your always in depth precisions on the topic

I do not consider historical pieces any 2533, 3646, 6152's that are not as modified by G. PANERAI. I am not interested in any parts that relates to the 'amigos' and less friendly parties that produced look alike pieces, this why I said… ‘To me the only le...

Cali for me :)

I’ll get any of these 2 Panerai Rolexes if they ever come my way.

 By: jlc.thomsen : February 12th, 2022-12:43
But since this is a dream and I can choose between 2 unicorns I’ll take the Cali dial.

And another tie! 5-5.

 By: amanico : February 12th, 2022-16:55

5-4 for the Cali/

 By: amanico : February 12th, 2022-16:55

6-5 for the " normal ".
