Panerai PAM 520. A chronograph which goes out of the beaten paths.

Aug 13, 2019,03:42 AM

Issued in 2014, it was available in platinum ( PAM 518 ), in rose gold ( PAM 519 ) and in white gold ( PAM 520 ).

Here is my favorite of the three, the white gold PAM 520.

I find the white dial of the platinum less strong looking, and I love the wink to the 2533 dial a lot.

The case is 45 mm big, quite high, and it houses the superb Minerva 13-22 movement:

The white gold and the rose are limited to 100 pieces each, while the platinum is limited to 50 pieces.

Here are the 518 and the 519 for the comparison:

I like both white metal pieces, it would be nice to have them as a set 😜

And the movement goes without saying, just gorgeous. Thank you for showing them .

My favorite would be the white dial version.

Lovely watch but no way I could put this 45 mm piece gracefully on my rather small wrist.

You know… I remember when these were announced, and in the article I read, the rose gold was featured. I thought: "That's a whole lot of gold I'm looking at." and all but

forgot to look at the dial! As usual, Nicolas, you know how to pick 'em. They tried to give the white face a spark with the blue chrono hands. but it's still too plain. No… you've picked the right one. Did you bite? The movement, alone, is worth a great d...

Very interesting and handsome watches

PAMs I was not familiar with Nicholas -- thanks for posting. I'm not a chrono guy, in general, yet these are unique and quite attractive.

A good friend of mine had the 520 and sold it.

I wish I made a play for it. It is my favorite of this unique trio.

You are my...emanation...

when it comes to watches "produced" by Panerai. You know these models leave me cold as an igloo, right? On a purely like/don't like, I like the white one. In spite of the "traffic jam" feeling that I get from the dial, I find it surprisingly...terse. You ...

I think that...different

tends to be overrated. I love Panerai (as you know), when I feel the need for "different" I look at a...PP, VC, Breguet.... :P
