Panerai PAM 203, 2005 LE of 150 pieces.

Feb 20, 2019,23:50 PM

Do you remember it?

When it was released, everybody wanted to get one, and was ready to kill for that.

14 years after, things have changed a bit, the madness on that reference has calmed down a bit.

14 years after, the circle with the mention " 8 giorni brevettato " looks a bit weird. Without, it would have been better, in my opinion.

The old angelus movement is top, as well as the case and the brown dial, still.

I can't wait to see it once again, in the metal, and to organize a photo session.

What are your feelings on the PAM 203, 14 years after?

Best,

Nicolas

The Angelus movement

is the cherry on the cake! Who cares the writing on the dial, if the watch comes with this movement? One of the best Panerai in its era, imho! Yours, Adam

For me it’s all about the movement...

It’s still a superb Panerai but where did the time go 🤔

Agreed. [nt]

First big hype as I recall. Prices were insane. Still cool piece but not top 3 PAM for me. Cheers D

It’s putting the 203 not in a better light.

Everyone has to decide rather this bothers him or not

True... [nt]

This is my favorite modern panerai and I would love to have one at a reasonable price

My handle on many forums is “Angelus8day”...besides the classic looks of panerai; what drew me to the brand was the 8 day power reserves. I never ever thought of actually owning due to its size and of course price.

Pity that...

the purely..aesthetic..judgement on this piece, has never been possible. This because it has been at the centre of..idolatry..since its production. The vintage Angelus inside "stole the thunder". It has a beautiful tobacco dial, a killer 1950 case and the...

How lucky can you get....

Hi Nicolas...maybe it’s not fair since I haven’t met you

But I am aware of your posts and I know Sergio’s humor. You have great knowledge of many brands and it’s great how you always share your knowledge and passion of both old and new panerai.

I like the 203 Nicolas

... but not as much as the 267 -- not because the 267 is more rare but because its dial looks cleaner without the circle on the right side. And the Marina Militare, of course.

I agree though I'm not exactly sure why

Maybe it's that the small circle completes a rectangle with the dial text on the GPF. More symmetrical than the top heavy dial text of the 203. The small circle is also less obvious on the GPF, given its large bezel. Funny how the little things matter ......

I would still kill for this piece...

... figuratively of course. Thanks for sharing my friend.

I was offered by the brand, and passed on it.

Mr. Bonay had me included. I could not safely afford the cost at the time, and would not buy it just to profit. I referred a friend for my position, he got it - certainly on his own merits too - and as far as I know, still has it. Cool watch.
