PAM210 in Thalosso

Feb 15, 2010,02:04 AM

The step, to give a little of freshness in my 210, which is a series H of 2005.

That I am going to introduce you isn't a service in its entirety but simply a "ravivage" of the box and in passage a replacement of hands. Those who were on my 210 did not seem to an enough quality, I found a more correspondent pair, always gold.

Let's go:

210 on operation table.

Taking down of the bracelet by four small screws for those who do not know Paneraï.

First technical stage, opening of the bottom of box. The open-case is much simpler to use than a key and risks for the bottom of box are so restricted.

They are there, the box is opened.

Following operation, to take out the crown and its stem. This small head of screw (in french "vis de tirette") which allows to liberate the crown.

Movement is soon liberated from the case, remains only both screws and their platinums to be extracted. Those are them who support movement in the case.

It's done, movement / face, the joints of bottom and crown and screw factories are under bell.

The crown and the stem of winder is replaced to perform the replacement of hands.

It's the instant to take away hands.

Now, the new hands, this operation is accomplished with a press. In first hand of the hours and then minutes, a head of different diameter for every hand.

The result.

Now, let us pass to the case.

Polishing, in this first stage, The watchmaker use a paintbrush lasts to withdraw the biggest marks. It is necessary to apply a paste to the paintbrush before polishing. This stage claims a big manual skill.

The case of Rad is completely bright but you should not round up stop them.

Change of brush and paste to give brilliance in the case.

After this stage, time for the bath to "ultrasounds" which eliminates dirtiness.

In passage, photo of the Unitas. A nice surprise for me the taking down of my Rad. The box is very good finish, movement was decorated of a nice way.

The face also is very well accomplished, I let you determine.

Last stage, reassembly.

They replace the joint of crown.

Lubrication of the tube and of the joint.

Reassembly of the crown.

And they fix the movment in the case, replace the joint of bottom by greasing it well.

And they close again.

To conclude, a good instant crossed to follow job of the watchmaker. A lot of peace and delicacy is needed.

Thanks a lot to him wink

Btw, what kind of new gold hands did you replace on your PAM210? I can't really tell from the picture but looks like slightly wider hands? Thanks for the post! Cheers, Anthony
