Once i was as confused as you are but a friend who has a PAM 292 J educated me..
PAM 292 with the pig is only J edition all subsequent will not have the PIG......
Last month I was in Caribean and visited PAM AD and was offered PAM 292 K (without the PIG) brand new.
So if you want i can give you the AD contact and you can contact them directly.
Reg. hair line scratches, i think ceramic is more brittle hence will crack /chip easily as it did but i never had any scartches or marks onthe watch, but i use to handle the watch very delicately and I think secret is that ceramic watches need to be handled even more gently then i did (more then i did with my PAM 317) :-(

The PAM292 is not difficult to get new
so just put yourself on the list and you'll get one. It's a regular production model, so you just have to wait for one if you want to get it. It may be faster to put your name on the list at a Panerai Boutique though. Ceramic may be harder than steel but ...

Whether to splurge and get the 292 J or the regular 292 M. Such a tough decision. I love the pig dial but the price seems unreasonable for now.
