some voices say the 339 Marina Militare will not be produced with the words MM on it .... so what will happen next ?? I think the MM just made the watch what it supposed to be ... let's hope they don't cancel the whole project

I was being facetious in my above comments. I don't have a PAM339 but was making a joke in relation to the recent PAM360 thread about one being sold for $30k. So I want to make sure I am not spreading the news that I do have a PAM339. - AT

O.P.V. MMT500. Expired may be not. Conflicting with newer agreements? If it is, and for what ever other reasons, I find it regrettable, because the brand loses The root that made this now-brand from the beginning.
Well, I'm not sure Panerai asked for MM agreement on the Pam 217...

as it doesn't look like there could be a real problem in that sense (see the PAM 267). Aesthetically speaking, I like the dial with Radiomir much better (perhaps not only aesthetically,,,,) Asi

On a more serious note, Asi, wasn't the Pam 267 released AFTER the OPV?
So, in this case, why not using, once again, the MM name on the 339? Does that mean that the 267, released in 2008, was distributed " under the coat "? Probably harder to hide 1500 pieces compared to the 6 Pam 267 produced? Probably issued as a secret to ...
To me this is aiming stragely, I fail to understand how MM was not secured for ever....

The speculation here has drifted us quite far, we do not know anything yet? I doubt if OPV has exclusive rights anyway, there is a very nice shop on the promenade of Viareggio that sells everything MM and they have from apparel to cups. Asi

As for the shop in Viareggiio, that are many in NY too, who can say what's legit or not. Panerai is widely known now, they sure cannot print anything that can legally be challenged.... I look forward to the official reasons that pushed Panerai to forgo MM...

I took this pic and asked some people at Panerai event Time and Space in Florence early this month. It seems some legal issues with MM writing, and final dial will not show this writing but the one in the pic By nacho_martinez at 2010-10-02...

Those who were deeply and sincerely in love with the 339 won't care about loosing 2 lines on the dial. The others will pass their way. All is good. Best, Nicolas

Thanks for the pic Nacho, but I really like it with the Marina Militare on the dial actually. With the 8 Giorni Brevettato logo, the watch must have the Marina Militare script! If it doesn't have the Marina Militare Script it should say RADIOMIR PANERAI o...

I tiotally agree. I would have preferred, if you remove the MM writings to have the ' Radiomir Panerai " writings stuck under 12, too. Like on the 203. Best, Nicolas

after all the hype they should, IMO, shelve the "emasculated" derivative of the 339 for a while and come back with all guns blazing, when they figure out something as innovative and glamorous as the 339 promised to be... If not, I personally don't really ...

Why not substitute Marina Militare with Regina Marina ;-) now THAT would make a collector's piece for sure
Maybe OP knew it from the start....
these days nothing surprises me anymore from OP, just imagine they knew they couldn't use the MM anymore, made a few pre-production models to get us all teased and then changed the dial when the final produktion began ..... I realy like the MM on the dial...

Corporate responsibility. They are not small. They should have known. I like Panerai after all these years, but this act is really disappointing.
