Some parts plus lots of time...

Thank you, Nico!
I bought an aftermarket dial plate and then painted the engraving and painted / lumed the numbers. Afterwards I filled the numbers of the dial with resin to create the effect of the vintage dials where the radium is sealed with resin.
Now I have a modern Luminor with a vintage style Radiomir dial! Just like in the old days, when Radiomir / Luminor did not indicate a case design but the type of lume applied.
The caseback is also an aftermarket part for a replica 6152 but it fits perfectly well and the watch is waterproof as before.

My XMas project

 By: Anatol : January 7th, 2021-06:01
I am very happy to present my finished XMas project today! After looking at too many vintage Panerai 6152, I decided to customize my PAM372 with a vintage style dial and a solid caseback. And here is the result. Hope you like it! ...

+1 (nt)

I like originals. I can only congratulate your ingenuity and determination to put your project into life. That being said, you've created what I consider a....fake

Haha! I like your dogmatic opinion!

But then, isn't the PAM372 a replica itself already?

Wrong....

the PAM372 is an..original..Panerai model, that people that know a lot about the maison's history, recongnoise as a derivative of the 6152

I would have expected a different position...

...from you, with your clear distinction between la Casa Panerai of old and the Swiss Panerai brand of today. But our forum thrives from different opinions and I am glad you took your time to look at my watch!

You seem to have.....

problems with....contexts. The originality of the 372 has NOTHING to do with any consideration regarding Casa Panerai or Swiss Panerai. It has to do with being an original model, manufactured by the Officine Panerai (because that's still the name of the c...

I am so surprised how you did this

Cool post!

This type of post brings up the old great debate. No one considers changing the rims on a car as somehow making the car fake. Yet the dial gets switched and a caseback gets switched and all of a sudden its a fake! Of course on the other hand, had you only...

I think so too.

All which is left is some pencil hands and an extra tall plexi, cracked to perfection of course😉

Thank you, Nicolas!

Thanks Brandon! Being more into vintage Rolex, Panerai is a "fun watch" for me. Seeing that Panerai did not offer exactly what I want, I decided to help myself.

I have no intention whatsoever to pretend anything improper. This is my kit watch. Except for a dial and a caseback it is genuine Panerai. Everything can be brought back to stock. No animals or children were harmed. And I have a hell of a time with it! Ch...

Changing the...rims of a car

in horology slang, would be equivalent to changing the...strap What was done to this 372 is a bit more radical, IMO. Changing the dial and the back, it's equivalent to making a Fiat look like a BMW. IMO of course. I didn't stigmatize nor condemned the...p...
