Don't forget the patina too :)

The below picture (not mine) is the best I've ever seen, I believe it's Di Stefano's own 372 and well documented example after many years of a good life well lived :
Applying Rolex patina logic this 372 is now worth ten times the price (not, he eventually got the plexi replaced)

Is Sapphire Glass Desirable Too!
By: Pun : June 2nd, 2020-23:26
I've so far understood that plexiglas is a darling amongst collectors. I've also read that PAM127 Fiddy is a sought after model among Panerai lovers. My queries are; 1. That 127 had a sapphire crystal instead of plexiglas, then how it's so desirable? 2. I...
I think one should go by elders!

I'll wait for the opportunity to get one in plexi. Just a second thought; is there much perceptible difference between two? Regards

Does t the plexy break down very easily or much easier than sapphire? Personally I would prefer the least vulnerable.

For me the shape of the sapphire on 127 is one of a kind, that tipe of domed gives a plexy vibe and reflection,I wonder why Panerai doesnât use that sapphire on other models .Ohh and I almost forgot the brush polish case that looks great and more in line w...

If plexi is not quintessential to Panerai DNA, then taking a 372 with sapphire crystal from AD plus 8 years brand warranty makes sense to me. I don't deny what my friends here said in favour of plexi, it's warmer and cleaner. I agree in toto. I am happy t...
I see things a little differently.

To answer your first question. The Fiddyâs desirability is its overall package. 1950 47mm case, gold hands, domed crystal, sandwich dial, early limited edition. Itâs reminiscent of vintage yet isnât trying to be vintage. Regarding the 372, whatever everyo...
Domed cristal
By: Juliusotto : June 3rd, 2020-08:05
what I find it odd is that Panerai did just 127 with this domed cristal ,none the same after that ,it is superb Pam but it is like a mistake that Panerai did (a very nice mistake) since they didnât installed on other reference, and itâs show that the Paner...
