How many of you want to see Panerai's with more complications?

Mar 29, 2015,11:39 AM

I used to have this below Panerai PAM246 foudroyante 1/8th seconds Radiomir chronograph which I've always found reallllly sexy for a sporty Radiomir.

I'm getting tired of the Panerai with the usual 2 complications - time only or time w/ seconds hand.  Most Panerai's are either this, so I need more of a variety to keep things "fresh" so I'm not bored with Panerai.

So that's why I keep repeating that Panerai needs to introduce a totally brand new case.

Another option is to create watches with more complications.  If Panerai goes and proceeds in this direction, which complications would you love to see?

A perpetual calendar w/ jump display like the below IWC Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar?  I think this would be a useful complication to have.  Yes, I know it's not with Panerai's history, but it's time to expand the product line IMO. smile  And yes I know Panerai already made a perpetual calendar with a prior Ferrari watch but let's just say the Ferrari line was a flop so that watch doesn't count.

Let's hear your thoughts.

Cheers,
Anthony

Why not a new case dedicated to new complications

 By: Horological_addict : March 29th, 2015-12:39
Merge your two ideas could also be an option. In this way, you keep the simple complications (hours, minutes, seconds) for the luminor 1950, luminor bettarini and radiomir case. And you create a new product line with its own specificities, its own case an...

They did an alarm a while back

Hi I seem to recall them doing an alarm a while back in the Radiomir case - was quite appealing. Had an alarm and GMT function, think it might have been a limited edition. Cheers JML

Why not a Minute Repeater? The big cases should give room for great resonance...Ha!

Enough of jokes...I'm not sure whether the Panerai legacy could provide hints for a new case. On the other side, why should a company not come up with something downright new? Look at Cartier, they're really creative when it comes to new cases and shapes ...

The Independant was a top Radiomir, indeed. A jewel.

42mm white gold case, gorgeous blue dial, Chezard movement, and my favorite complication (jump seconds). Even the magnifier on the case back to view jump lever was cool. Wish I could go back in time and buy it. Sigh... Daos

it's high time they come up with a new case, you can't continue milking the cow from the same case over and over.... besides that complications don't fit Panerais IMO, at least not till a certain point, chronos are ok, but a perpetual for example is not s...

ever...ever...ever...agree with you. Panerai must continue to represent....PANERAI. Look at all the companies, in the various industries, that have "done away" with their CORE BUSINESS and notice that a lot of them ended up on the...scap heap... :-) Do so...

The key for Panerai will be making sure this new case is a winner

If the new case doesn't look and wear good on the wrist, the entire new line will flop no matter what they put inside. - AT
