You have just confirmed my words :)

Historical Panerai 6152/1 (right on your photo) was equipped with Rolex movements having just two hands and case with shard case edges. Its modern interpretations are 372, 663, 605 etc.
Modification of Panerai 6152/1-A was equipped with Angelus movements having 3 hands incl small seconds dial at 9. The case was reworked to accomodate new Angelus movement dimensions resulting in rounded edges of a case. Its modern interpretations are 127, 267, 203.
This is my confuse coming from - 1088 has three hands (like historical Angelus equipped 6152/1-A) BUT a case with sharp esges from two hands version of historical 6152/1 equipped with Rolex.
Anyway, the 1088 looks very nice!

Now thatā€™s for sure a great achievement: becoming a classic immediately at birth. May this honeymoon phase never stop. I wonder when you will be able to wear another piece again. šŸ˜Š All the best Thomas

Whatā€™s different

to the case of the 372?

Brushed case, polished bezel...

Forget about this detail in choice gents!

Thanks. The shape looks really the same as 372, just brushed. Historically, ...

This case type in the 6152/1 family was used for Rolex movement (without second hand). Angelus (with second hand) was set in cases having rounded sides like one for Fiddy 127. Just wondering, why your initiative team decided on such a mixed construction ?...

I canā€™t answer all of your questions as I donā€™t know all the details .

I know that they wanted to have it as close as possible. But of course Panerai didnā€™t / couldnā€™t wave everything trough. On one site it would have increased the prizes and On the other site I think as well Panerai wanted to ā€œprotectā€ some of the older mod...

One general thing to add

The 1080 is the closest watch out there to the 6154-1. its beyond the dreams and expectations of everyone. Thatā€™s just cool.

Closest to Panerai 6152/1-A I guess? In contrast, 6154 is the "Small Egiziano", without crown guard and small seconds. :)

PAM 267 is the closest to Panerai 6152/1-A. Then, PAM 127. IMO, 1088 goes after 267 and 127. Nevertheless, 1088 is a nice modern interpretation ! Wear it in good health!

Yes 6152/1 šŸ˜Š

Why are they closer to it? The 6152/1 does not have a super doomed glas. Fiddy and 267 do have more text on it. Thatā€™s the most obvious difference already . You should exchange with the founders. look on these pictures with 1080 and the vintage 6152/1 MM....
