I buy recently a 721, but i must admit that the 249 make me dream !

PAM424 logo and...date. It must have been a commercial disaster since a year later, Panerai's brass decided to eliminate the date and produced it with ONLY the logo. ...

Such a simple watch, yet somehow quite interesting and appealing. Of various large Panerais, I find it the easiest to wear -- trim case, wire lugs, blue hands, and that mix of numerals. Probably not intended originally for the public with that dial, but a... 

the California dial was created by Rolex. Panerai simply "borrowed" it, together with the Cortebert movement and all the other Rolex accessories, made it...waterproof and luminous...and named it Panerai 3646
