Here's my take on this
If a watch is available in different metals (Gold, Platinum, etc....), I have an issue with paying the premium for a precious metal, when the SS version is essentially the same watch for MUCH less money, as you pointed out.
The only time I would consider a precious metal case is if it were unique and only offered in that variation.
This is my personal thoughts on the matter, so my advice would be to save the money and get the SS version............but that's just me
