I’m new to the Panerai section, and have been reading through some previous posts, where models such as the 372 / 422 are called ‘last of the best’. Interested in where this sentiment comes from, as I’d been looking at some of the current models, and this... 

Yes to some degree. I own both. If I had to only pick one it would be the 372 but I also love the 422. It’s a bit thicker and heavier then the 372.

I know 47mm is big, but they still wear well. What sized wrist do you have? Also btw in many of the new reference the movement are basic ETA. In itself there is nothing wrong with ETA movements but somehow the value equation is hard to make sense of for s... 

A little under 7” as i may have lost a few lbs..

The thing with a 47mm Panerai is that it’s supposed to be big so it’s ok if it wears big. It was designed to be legible and simple and not if it will fit under a cuff But we do get the apprehension. Big and Panerai isn’t fashionable these days when ironic...
