From which year is this?

I have never checked on panerai and just started recently reading about them. I am still at the beginning of the info chain.

What are the reference movements of panerai? Can anyone give a guidance here ? Thanks a lot.

Btw: do you guys read the perezcope.com blog?

Cheers

Panerai PAM 557. A Classic with a twist.

A Destro Classic. Disorienting, with its typical crown protector at 9 o' clock, but not less charming than a PAM 372. Would it make a great pair with the 372, according to you? Best, Nicolas ...

Maybe even more charming, or perhaps interesting, with the left side operations.

I don't think I would add it to my 372, but to have one or the other is well worth it. 2 would be a big cherry! I lust a 662, maybe that one with this Destro would be tops.

So, if you didn't have either a 372 or a 557...

Which one would you choose?

Argh... still the 372 for me.

If I ever add a 662, I would still keep the 372. If I only owned a 662, I might be inclined for the destro. 372 is the best Panerai I have ever owned. If only it had a solid caseback, it would be perfect.

Go for it...

... as it has a strong connection with the war years Panerai watches and it is very comfortable on the wrist (though a big akward I recognize) with the crown guards at nine. It makes a nice collection piece. The watch is a mirror of a 372, so it has all t...

If stocks will not run out before I buy one, it will be my first Panerai

Btw, it is confirmed from the factory, it comes indeed with sapphire, unlike what was reported previously - a big plus for my personal taste. All the very best dear friends, Alex

not due to one model being "better looking" than the other

A while ago there was a question regarding plexi vs. sapphire

I vaguely remember the currently sold 372 comes with sapphire but not the 557? Can someone confirm this?
