Conclusion of Panerai / La Jolla Concours and Motor Car Classic
Apr 14, 2014,07:11 AM
I should finish this off with a general view of a few cars that I liked. A gutsy Isotta Fraschini owned and driven by Bill Evans.
A fantastic 1958 Cadillac Limousine; I think there were only 3-4 of these built
A Brace of Bentleys
Not just cars; there were plenty of olde world bikes too.
A Duesenberg in patriotic livery caught the eye of Mrs C.
While the Wandering Purist wouldn't forgive me if I didn't include an action shot of his favorite brand
Keith Martin, publisher of Sports Car Market was the emcee and award presenter. I don't know who won any of the awards, sorry.
This car seemed the right place to put an end to our participation in the Concours enclosure. What a lovely rear end!
The sun came out as we wandered homewards on the closed and car-packed streets, lugging our bag of goodies and wondering which Paneral should fit into the Cazalea watch closet...
It was uphill all the way back to our car.
and coincidentally, our path took us right past the Panerai boutique, which had some customers in, trying on watches to take home with them.
I hope you enjoyed the report as much as I enjoyed remembering yesterday! Many many thanks to Rafael Alvarez, Michele Gallagher, Allison Sottile and the rest of the Panerai folks for their kind assistance.
