One distinction that does not seem to be acknowledged here . . .

is the fact that the watches you are looking at both have sandwich dials and not sausage dials. I have always preferred sandwich dials, but I notice some of the recommendations here may include sausage dials. Having said that, I have had about a dozen PAM references and I have generally refused to get anything with a date, the modern logo, complications, etc. There is a reason the Fiddy is so popular compared to some of the "newer" models. It only references the PAM's from earlier.
Having said all that, I found that my favorite, and final "keeper" in the range is the 605, which is in a colorway that never existed back in the day and has a line on the dial "FIRENZE" that is also not on the original watches. Having owned so many, I kept this because it is the best looking to my eye and for no other reason. (FWIW, I also have the 338, which is somewhat non-traditional as well! and a desk clock with the Radiomir sandwich dial face)
