Battle of the PAM: 931, 685, 720 and 721. Which one would you pick if you could only pick one?
I finally was able to make it to my AD today (was busy with work) as I wanted to see the 931 in the flesh which is very nice and different. However i did not expect to also see the 685, the 720 and 721 as I thought these last three were all sold out. I would pick all 4 if I could but seeing the all 4 is making picking the next one a bit trickier. Which one would you pick if you could only pick one? Thanks in advance for your considerations dear fellow purist

I really like the 720 and 685. I think i would take the 685 which has a very nice profile and gorgeous hands. Plus, a nearly flat plexy. The 30m water resistance is deceptive.
To me the battle is between the 720 and 721
Conventional Panerai collectorism would choose the 721 for the Kampschwimmer back story, less is more mantra, and on and on. It’s a nice watch, but unless its a real genuine Kampfschwimmer from the 1930s, I find the contemporary piece to be just a big emp...
To me a radiomir and radiomir 1940 are so different to a luminor that they fit quite well in a Paneristi collection .
And the case design of a radiomir with wire is historically the first evolution. To me that design is pretty elegant and fun to wear. My strap is I think 26mm. Not sure though . I could ask.
I love the 720.
I think the text adds to the design and gives it the balance the 721 lacks. Wish they made a brown-dialed version. Enjoy all! With best wishes, P

I had to take a decision at the time they came out . You have to see the 721 in the right strap though. Especially when comparing in the boutique... the only weak point on the 720 I the text color ... I choose the 721 as at Point comparing both I was kind...
721 would be my first pref...has a historic connection & anonymous dial is somewhat cool !

To my knowledge 3 of them (685, 721 and 720) are limited edition that came out somewhere around 2018. I am not sure I could them from an AD if I pass them on now. I could for sure get them on the aftermarket such as chrono24 but it’s not the same as buyin...
