The market has..shifted

slightly. 10 years ago EVERY 202A was going for that amount. Today, the average ones go for 45/55K and the NM have gone up again. Same for the 201A, 10 years ago 30-35 for a matching, 45/50 for a NM. Today 15/20 for a matching, upward of 50 for a NM. The ones in the picture below (belonging to a friend of mine) are in the..superstars..category smile

A blast from the Past: Panerai Pre Vendome 5218-203/A.

 By: amanico : March 1st, 2019-01:20
It was not my favorite Pre Vendome piece, but it didn't lack charm with its greyish black PVD case and this creamy patina of the indices. Credit picture: Antiquorum. Enjoy, Nicolas ...

The very early 90s Panerai

Those were good times! I really liked the early days wooden boxes: they really looked artisanal, including the little metal plate

Yes, the good old time !!

And superb patina of the ( fat ) index and numbers of the dial ....

Clearly. [nt]

 By: amanico : March 1st, 2019-09:14

it looks indeed different from nowadays Panerai...excellent..

 By: Izhik : March 1st, 2019-03:59
is it from the pre-Richemont era?? this might explain also the wooden box...once you got such a watch, it was a package that included all the right details...

Lovely piece but

 By: Passionata_george : March 1st, 2019-11:37
pls educate me ,ist it true that these pieces declined in price just recently ?

Yes, but......

 By: sergio : March 1st, 2019-12:42
technically, they got back to their "value". The Asian bubble, had a ridiculous effect on the T-dialled models. Japanese, Hongkongers, Indonesian, Malaysians, Thai and last but by no means least...Chinese, chased after everything that was remotely connect...

Can you tell me

which models considered important?obviously i can do my homework but a professional help saves time and

Other than the vintages.....

of which there are 500 to 600 tops, the Pre-V are the...historical...ones. Somewhat "historical" are also the Pre-A (produced in 1997, year of the purchase from Vendome, but with all left over materials and components from Panerai) Of all the historical, ...

Thanks ,

I used to be in love with PAMs had a Rad(pam210) for certain time but magic gone ,those days the Pre V models were super expensive but these days might worth to look around,i m not planning to build a collection but a nice single piece may find its pillow...

Why such a fluctuation in price

 By: Passionata_george : March 3rd, 2019-03:47
202 70k 201 18k 203 50k personally like the logo the most

The prices you've mentioned are not correct.....

 By: sergio : March 3rd, 2019-06:44
in a way. Both the 201A and 202A have TWO different price tags: one for the matching and one for the non matching models. A 201A NM, if pristine and with the "right" patina, has a market price of upward of 50K. The same goes for a 202A NM which goes for 8...

This is NM..but..

 By: sergio : March 3rd, 2019-07:14
the indices are normal NOT "extra fat" like the one of my friend in the picture above

Yep! [nt]

Unfortunately....

 By: sergio : March 1st, 2019-10:31
the 5218-201A and the 5218-202A, for different reasons stole the "thunder" from the 203A. If, on that, you add that the 004Pre-A is (almost) the carbon copy which can be had for a..song and a dance..compared with the 203A, you understand why in th...

Regardless of the material....

 By: sergio : March 1st, 2019-11:16
I think that the 201A, being the..first..commercial Panerai, is THE superstar (for both the hard-core Paneristi and the more casual collectors). The 202A is a MammaMia and the 203A is..just a Pre-V Panerai in PVD. IMO of course

Yes, well put. [nt]

Sadly those days are long gone my friend!

 By: Makilla : March 2nd, 2019-00:36
i remember the excitement when I used to see one of those pre-vs at a certain GTG. Too bad the days have changed!! I still have some weakness for a 202a non matching though
