Well, for them it's a learning process...

However, w/ commercial interests behind, I can imagine biased decisions made in exchange for short term gain. With JL at helm for the Richemont group, hopefully we can start to see some decisions planned w/ longer vision.

Best, mahesh.,

Good news! I was expecting the release of the 790 and 791 since their first photos appeared several months ago in IG and other sources...

... I like the 791 creamy white dial very much. Guess it will enter in my collection! A nice change in a Panerai collection this dial and hands set! Cheers! Abel

Thanks a lot dear Ahoi! I hope I will be able to capture on soon.

Incidentally, a few minutes ago I received a wasap from the Miami Bal Harbour boutique telling me they got one black dial example today. He even showed me the photo in their hands. Quite tempting for sure! Will try to get the ivory dial one which I like b...

The PAM791 might actually be based on a non-Panerai clock dial. Perezscope on IG has some details about this model having a "fabricated" history.

Both dials are..non-Panerai dials....

 By: sergio : September 11th, 2018-15:26
I don't know if they got the "inspiration" from a particular dial (the clock theory isn't too far fetched) or various elements of the dial have been...patched...together from different sources. One thing is for sure, since 1936 no Panerai has ever had a d...

I like both the Radiomirs 1940....

 By: sergio : September 11th, 2018-14:13
the dial is ingtriguing enough and minimalistic enough to "agree" with me

Exactly what I thought. [nt]

I like the minimalism of 790 and 791 ...

... but wonder if the dial printing is too delicate for the heavy 1940 case and lugs. The watches don't seem as well integrated overall as other large, simple 47mm Panerais.

Someone on Perezcope's IG replied with the name "Chomutov"

 By: reintitan : September 11th, 2018-17:48
It's was a Czechoslovakian company that made clocks in the Art Deco period and which later became a part of Kienzle. Here's one of those Chomutov clocks from the 1930s. Note the hands also match the PAM 790/791 shape! Link to more images: www.decaso&#...

The 790/791 are not my cup of tea .

 By: Ahoi : September 11th, 2018-22:28
They are something different and special. A bit too old fashion style for me . Nevertheless I could imagine that the 791 with a cool lasse fair vintage strap or even with a canvas strap might change that so that it might look pretty cool. My favorite is t...

Got the 797 from Hong Kong Boutique today

Been searching for 8 days with power reserve indicator for quite a while. Enjoying its sandwich dial and light weight! ...

Thanks

I don't mind absence of date if it had made the case thinner

Agree 100% for weekend watches [nt]

PAM 791 is great looking, but for me way too large

I am one of those who really like the DUE series. GEO

Absolutely in love w/ 791...

So pleased to finally see a dial that's NOT a hommage to a historical piece.

I completely agree with you....

if only they had come up with the idea earlier, we would have been spared a great number of atrocities

Well, for them it's a learning process...
