That is a wonderful picture of a Tantalum watch

Maybe the best one out there.  I traded to get one and never looked back, I still own and wear in in rotation.  The blue hues make it such and interesting metal, the movement and finishing are average but it doesn’t matter, looking at his watch is special like no other…JIm

Many moons ago, a 172

Wish I held on to this PAM. The tantalum color was gorgeous. Despite this wonderful case material, the watch was not as heavy as advertised. Like with almost all PAMs, I would prefer a solid caseback. But it was a very cool release at the time, and no dou...

OMG I agree with you Michael this is superb!

It created an amazing stir among collectors when the rumors of its release broke.

Those were fun days to be a Paneristi.

I remember it.

Preference for the clean dial 172, but this chrono is nice.

Wow jawdropping!!

but like you said not as heavy as it could have been. Was on my bucket list for years, but after holding one, I strangely decided against it...

It was a still a pleasure on the wrist.

But coming across other tantalum watches over the years, I would have expected the PAM to be much heavier.

Pictures of my Pam 172 tantalum, by and way my favorite metal, I put in a couple of pictures for the FP Journe Bleu as well, my other tantalum watch… Jim ...

Worthy of its own post!

Thank you Michael I appreciate that. I considered doing a separate post but I don’t know how the etiquette works on these things… Jim

The etiquette is you post that beautiful 172, any time, any place!

And we all drool over it!! So glad you have one, I surely should have kept mine and it is a regret to have let it go.

The first tantalum watch I ever saw, ever held. Loved it.

And yes, maybe you should have held on to that one !

I sure wish I did. One of the most special PAMs, and in a very non-Panerai way, they have not copied it again

 By: MichaelC : July 31st, 2021-14:02
Maybe they decided it is much easier to re-make all of their non-tantalum watches instead.

Amazing piece

I never knew that PAM made a tantalum piece. Wow!!!!

They make the 172 and the 192 Chrono

 By: GreatPilot@me.com : August 6th, 2021-20:24
I believe the 192 has a Lemania chronograph movement but was much less popular than the simpler 172 with a Panerai movement. at the time I could’ve bought either one but went with the simplest one that seems to show off the tantalum better because of the ...
