Had some wrist time over the holidays. I still love this watch, love the simplicity. And at 44mm and my only “big watch” that remains it doesn’t look so bad. ...  

The faux patina was divisive eventually, but I think when first seen on this watch the consensus was it looks great.

Only afterwards when it was rolled out on other watches, by Panerai and others, did the negativity really ramp up. For this watch, it was very much a novelty. For me, I’ve always liked the faux patina. For the right watch, which differs person to person, ... 

For me it clearly looks great here (the faux patina)

Given that I’ve gone sub-40mm for most things these days it always surprises me that this one looks OK.

In part I think my eyes are used to it, and the 44mm Panerai cases, after what is almost two decades of Panerai for me. Next year will be 20 years from my first Panerai.
