Sunday Picture: Pam 24 A.

 By: amanico : December 17th, 2011-23:21
Here is a picture of a watch I recently photographed, a Pam 24 A, with its smooth bezel. There is a lot to say, and I will certainly prepare a post about what I consider as the nicest Submersible ever made by Panerai, with the 64. Certainly one of the few...

These earliest submersibles....

PAM24 & PAM25 are amongst my favorite submersible, along with the PAM64 and the Egiziano (despite of the size) And both PAM24 & 25, to me are the closest, civilized version of the Egiziano Very wearable and has a very strong Panerai character to it Thanks...

I particularly like the high polish of the case!

Enjoy your sunday too mon ami! Ciao Stephen

And a wearable one, too. ;)

Nice shoot...

And nice watch ! Parfaite pour commencer la reconstruction ! Forza !

Hey, mon ami.

Without you, this shot wouldn't have been possible. You have a superb specimen. Forza, as you say! Nicolas.

One of my favourite Sub too.....

Thanks for sharing Cheers

If only Panerai decided to release the Egiziano in a wearable size...

 By: amanico : December 18th, 2011-07:48
Somewhere between 45 and 47 mm would be perfect! Till now, this 24, and the Fat Bomba are my first choices. Best, Nicolas.

44mm in my opinion... even at 47 mm it would be akward to wear

 By: Miranda : December 18th, 2011-15:01
because of the shape of the case, but I reckon IF they did make it......47mm how long to Jan 2012?????????????????????????????????????

Well, I think the Egiziano has to stay a big watch.

 By: amanico : December 18th, 2011-15:12
But in a wearable size... So 47 mm may well be a good compromise. Let's see what they will do, IF they do it. Best, my old friend. Nicolas.

Word for word what I would have written...:-) [nt]

Now the question is ...

 By: amanico : December 18th, 2011-08:47
To know if it is that a surprise! Ciao, my friend. Nicolas.

To an extent, yes. I never figured you for a Sub chap...:-)

 By: sergio : December 18th, 2011-11:00
Only difference, I draw the line at the 24A. No place, in my Hit Parade, for the Bomba or any other Sub (and that include the Bronzo)... Ciao - Sergio

And to think at one time you said you didn't take good photos

Outstanding shot my friend and really captures the life of the early sub . . looks great !!

I love all the T dial subs....and the A serie totally underestimated. but FGS keep it

 By: Miranda : December 18th, 2011-14:54
QUIET...... till AFTER I get one! my fave is the 25... T dial mmmmhhhh after the one I have ofcourse This message has been edited by imran in london on 2011-12-18 14:58:06...

Even though I prefer brushed surfaces, I must say the 24 looks fantastic

And with a early Sub "feel" that has mutated and even lost in newer versions. Thanks for the Sunday pic, though I only saw it now on Monday. Best, Horo

You're so Horo Late! :)

 By: amanico : December 19th, 2011-14:02
I totally agree... With the later versions, Panerai lost its the natural balance and appeal of " The Sub ". Best, Nicolas.

Sweet

 By: Tony A.H : December 19th, 2011-13:58
it is one of the Nicest Subs ever made. Cheers !!

That is funny... This is a watch I very well knew in the early 2000s.

 By: amanico : December 19th, 2011-14:01
I didn't see it for years, and to see it again renenwed my flame and love for it... It is so pure! Best, Nicolas.

Thanks for your comprehension. :) [nt]

No arguing here.

The smooth polished bezel is special. Even as I crave a 382 Bronzo, the newest interpretation of the Submersible, how can you ever beat this, now a classic? Thanks Nicolas.

We're surfing on the same wave, here.

 By: amanico : December 20th, 2011-06:29
The only thing which COULD beat a 24 A WOULD be an Egiziano 47 mm.... IF Panerai decides to release it, one day... Best, my friend. Nicolas.
