model to many a Panerai's purist. I haven't seen a 372 "live" yet. Yes, I have read the tons and tons of comments, reviews etc. but that's not the same as actually holding the piece in your hand or wearing it on your wrist. I'll post again once I'll have the chance of a "tete-a-tete" with the 372, in the meantime I'll hold on to my 127.... smile

Which Panerai would you want to have - a PAM127 or a PAM372 ? And please state why!

Assuming both pieces are exactly the same price, if you could only have one - PAM127 or PAM372 - which one would it be and why? Cheers, Anthony PAM372 PAM127...

372 for me and only one reason

127 - is too much doomed - I don't like the '1950' on the dial 372 - even e niver case and if you have the choice between a very cheap ETA and a inhouse I do prefer inhouse

It is cruel to say, but I'd say 372.

The 127 is a watch I like a lot, and one of those I regret having sold, but the 372 has 2 good things, versus rthe 127: It doesn't have these green almond luminova indexes. It doesn't have the " 1950 " writing " that always disturbed me. Aaah, it doesn't ...

372 all the way -very unique, yet historically accurate, no "1950", no seconds hands, better font and color, better OEM strap, manufacture movement, price point...... But compared to the 217 (with "Marina Miilitare" on the dial) and it being a destro, wou...

personally i believe its being presented as a raw vintage panerai as possible , unlike the 127 which is like an officer dolled up and had make up applied to his face... in other words with 372 the essence and panerai depth im able to go to is deeper than ...

I think the case shape with the waistband crease, no seconds, engraved dial, hands...all add up to a more pure reinterpretation of the vintage stuff. Disclaimer, I have yet to see it in person and all of my opinions are based on the mesmerizing photos by ...

b/c I have 203!

Probably the 127. A difficult question...

Instinctively, I like the PAM 127 more, the brushed 1950s case, the domed sapphire crystal, etc. I don't care for the 1950s lettering on the dial admittedly, but this is easily overlooked. However, one of the largest goals of wearing a Panerai is to wear ...

it's so beautiful that if one can pull off the size I think it really blows away the Pre A and Pre V watches. I know that's somewhat apples and oranges.

372...

Actually, I would have thought the Fiddy would have gotten more love here. It just means Panerai hit a homerun with this piece and I should add, I love the etched 372 dial.

372 definitely! [nt]

Without any doubt... A better looking a more "correct" re-interpretation of the 6152/1 Even though we can't doubt the charm of the 127.. As I mentioned in my previous posts about 47mm Panerai... But yes, no doubt I'll choose 372 over 127 Best, Sam

372 is a nice hommage to the original but little identity in itself, apart from the stumpy hands off course The 382, now thats an instant classic!

127 - ETA movement - Overpriced/expensive second hand price - "1950" on the dial + 1500 pcs 372 + in-house movement + Relatively cheap if compare to current second hand price of 127 + Dial/case close to original design - 3000 pcs and more You do the math

the hands of 372 is shorter like 232 and the plexiglass is a bit strange ,need to see and confirm , all these imo. Regards John

Basically I like old school PAMs, but I gotta say that 372 has stronger vintage looks, and you gotta love that longer PR. This message has been edited by Davo on 2011-04-18 00:01:48

- engraved and sign with a vintage and original font - base, cleaner dial, no unnecessary prints - original hands with a Rolex movement, it trumps 21 and 203! A more difficult choice would be a 372 or PreV/PreA PVD for the same price and if you can only p...

Never cared for 1950 on the 127's dial

Unless the 267's a choice, 372.

372....no question....

its the case design, if ever there was a true homage to vintage Panerai (6152) this is it, just a shame they did not sign it of MM... I adored it the moment I saw it.. now if they put a vintage movement in this..... Imran

The 372 for me.

 By: Subco : April 21st, 2011-04:07
Hi from France. For me, it will be definitely the 372. The 127 is a great watch, but i am really not in love with the "1950" markings. The other bad point on the 127 is the almond green of the indexs (as this color is the only thing i do not like too much...

127 only because I don't like the fake patina on the 372

 By: tech_controller : April 21st, 2011-06:50
but prefer the inhouse movement over the cheapo $200 movement in the Fiddy.

Proper "1950" case ~ no engravings Unique Crown Guard opening direction Limited Production Almost a decade old

i would go for the 127

 By: slide1968 : April 27th, 2011-04:43
Hello Anthony and everybody here at Purists, I would go for the 127, simpler and cleaner dial. Indeed - as other already said - the "1950", similarly to every other sign different from "Panerai", does not fit very well my taste. Ciao from Milano, slide68
