Can't do snapback. I'd take an ETA Panerai 000/112/005 over this one. Granted the dial is cool, but it lacks an essence of the brand IMHO. [nt]

I was browsing the panerai website and saw the below model which got my pulse racing due to the 2-liner on top and the logo at the bottom: I didn't realize they offered this dial. The case however looks to be the snap back/springbar type with 100m WR. ...

No snap back please!

I always would prefer the Bettarini cased 000. The true Panerai with the correct back ;-))

Absolutely

Not a complete deal breaker but still, very much a case of all show and no go.

And it finally happened....

after 23 years. Few of us have been wondering for quite a while, WHEN Panerai would have produced a copy of the 5218-201A LOGO Pre-V and here we are. The dial is identical: 2 lines on top, logo at 6. I'm glad they didn't use the faux-trizio for the indice...

This looks like sausage dial? I know 201a

Is neither sandwich dial nor sausage dial but has a look like more like sandwich dial

It looks....

.."painted" to me, like the LOGO. But I was referring more to the dial's graphic, with the TWO lines on top and the logo at 6, like the LOGO. There are no existing dials that are like that, apart from the 5218-201A

To me too. [nt]

Ahh yes. The dial graphic/configuration is same as 201a

Not to nitpick, but isn’t the numerals in the 201a lume filled indices? While this newer dial is printed?... I only bring it up as the 201a dial creation with thick lume filled numerals is favorite though never seen one in the metal

The indices of the 201a....

are "carved" in the dial and painted/filled with Tritium. It looks to me (from the picture) that also this model has a "carved" or printed dial, painted/filled with what I think is super luminova. That is unless they used the A models technique of filling...

I have to be honest with you....

after 23 Post Vendome years, I have severe difficulties in remembering the "essence" of the brand
