The thinnest A. Lange & Söhne timepiece so far distils the key facets of a Lange watch within a height of just 5.9 millimetres. After its launch in January 2016, the pink- or white-gold SAXONIA THIN is now available in two sizes.

In 2011, A. Lange & Söhne presented the SAXONIA THIN, enriching the SAXONIA family with a model that perpetuates the traditional characteristics of its lineage with lucid sleekness and radiant elegance. Additionally, it is the thinnest model of the entire collection so far.

Five years after its debut, the graceful two-hand watch now presents itself anew with a subtly reworked dial that reflects the current design of the SAXONIA timepiece family. In comparison with the predecessor model, the baton-style hour markers in solid gold have been slightly extended and moved closer to the bezel. This gives the argenté-coloured solid-silver dial extra prominence.

The new SAXONIA THIN was originally unveiled at the SIHH in Geneva in January 2016. Now it is available through retailers in pink and white gold, with a case diameter of either 37 or 40 millimetres.

Both versions are powered by the manually wound calibre L093.1 movement which is a scant 2.9 millimetres thick and features the Lange-typical finissage of all parts. Its classic quality hallmarks include the German-silver three-quarter plate decorated with Glashütte ribbing, solarised winding-train wheels, three screwed gold chatons and a hand-engraved balance cock.

About A. Lange & Söhne

Dresden watchmaker Ferdinand Adolph Lange laid the cornerstone of Saxony’s precision watchmaking industry when he established his manufactory in 1845. His precious pocket watches remain highly coveted among collectors all over the world. The company was expropriated after World War II, and the name A. Lange & Söhne nearly vanished. In 1990, Ferdinand Adolph Lange’s great-grandson Walter Lange had the courage to relaunch the brand. Today, Lange crafts only a few thousand wristwatches in gold or platinum per year. They are endowed exclusively with proprietary movements that are lavishly decorated and assembled by hand. With 54 manufacture calibres developed since 1994, A. Lange & Söhne has secured a top-tier position among the world’s finest watch brands. Brand icons, such as the LANGE 1 with the first outsize date in a regularly produced wristwatch and the ZEITWERK with its precisely jumping numerals display, rank among the company’s greatest successes. Sophisticated complications such as the RICHARD LANGE PERPETUAL CALENDAR “Terraluna”, the ZEITWERK MINUTE REPEATER and the DATOGRAPH PERPETUAL TOURBILLON reflect the manufactory’s determination to achieve ever new pinnacles in horological artistry.
