This just in from Horopedia:

Thanks to the initiative of the Geneva Watch Days and Phillips in association with Bacs & Russo, the Horopedia Foundation is pleased to announce a special #charity event, aimed to fulfill one of its main goals to assist young watchmakers or adults in continuing education to thrive on their passion.

On Wednesday, August 30, a Charity Auction will be held with Aurel Bacs at the gavel. The private event, available only for those registered for the Geneva Watch Days, will provide an opportunity to acquire 15 rare #luxury objects or experiences offered by the participating brands and partners.

The money raised will fund scholarships at the Ecole d'Horlogerie de Genève.

“Being able to benefit from such valuable assistance for the well-being of some of our students represents very tangible support. This will allow them to continue their studies under the best possible conditions. We sincerely thank all those involved in this #initiative, as it contributes to supporting future watchmakers and, consequently, the future of our #industry”, - Pierre Amstutz Amstutz, director of the Ecole d'Horlogerie de Genève.

Among lots is a two-night stay in Rome where you’ll be able to discover the secret Bulgari spots of the eternal city, 2 tickets for a Manchester City Football Club game, provided by BREITLING, along with the meeting with the Norwegian mountain Erling Haaland, Konstantin Chaykin offered a limited edition hoodie decorated with one of his drawings, and URWERK will offer a unique pen and ask Martin Frei to draw something special for you.
The unique lots are provided by Alpina Watches, Arnold & Son and Angelus Watches, BREITLING, Bulgari, Czapek & Cie, FHH - Fondation Haute Horlogerie, GMT Magazine, Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève - GPHG, HAUTLENCE, Konstantin Chaykin, MB&F and H. Moser & Cie., Oris, Phillips in association with Bacs & Russo, Trilobe and URWERK.

Horopedia took part in organizing the charity auction, providing communication and mediation support for the key players, as well as a vast knowledge of the industry and its needs.

“The HOROPEDIA Foundation has two goals: to document and share watchmaking expertise AND to provide opportunities. Although our resources are currently exclusively used for creating content for this immense encyclopaedic project, our intention from the beginning was to be able to assist young watchmakers or adults in continuing #education by granting scholarships. Thanks to our collaboration with the Geneva Watch Days, we are now able to implement this social objective of the Foundation and provide very concrete assistance to students in need to continue their education. A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible”, - Marc Andre Deschoux, founder of the Horopedia Foundation.

The charity auction will take place at the GWD main Pavilion during the Official Gala Dinner.

About The Geneva Days
The Geneva Watch Days are an industry salon founded in 2020 by eight prestigious watch brands: Breitling, Bulgari, De Bethune, Girard-Perregaux, H. Moser & Cie, MB&F, Ulysse Nardin, and Urwerk. The event is based on a modern and unconventional philosophy that emphasizes cooperation while avoiding complexity. It is a self-managed organization that is light, flexible, and agile, providing a common space to showcase the latest in watchmaking, while giving participating brands the opportunity to host decentralized activities. Held in partnership with the Canton and the City of Geneva, the show caters to retailers and media, while being completely open to the public.
