Montblanc 1858 Tachymeter. July 2020.

 By: amanico : July 3rd, 2020-10:12
Well, this photo was taken a few months ago, but who cares. Each month, I decided to post one new picture of my 1858 Tachymeter. As an evidence of my love for that watch. Enjoy, as much as I do, and I do like it a lot! Best, Nicolas ...

A truly superb timepiece! A true masterpiece for aficionados who understand high horology and not just brand names...

The exceptional finishing on this watch makes me realize Vacheron Constantin and Patek Philippe finishing is a commodity.

Well said! [nt]

Now it justified a place on your wrist.

When you see the real thing...

You'll notice the anglage on every part is beautifully finished and thoroughly polished. No "chatter" the lines you get on some less perfect anglage. Then notice the "V" bridge and that deep recess of the V is perfectly polished. Also notice the Minerva A...

I do think so! [nt]

not different than other watch brands or high end cars

 By: penfriend : July 4th, 2020-03:05
they have a very small group of experts who can take care of servicing these watches - it is not a mass product so it takes time to handle them and return them. and how often do we read about thousands of cars (Porsche, Mercedes, BMW etc) that are ordered...

Actually, VERY different than brands like AP, UN, Chopard, and Carl F. Bucherer.

 By: MichaelC : July 6th, 2020-21:11
I have service experience with all of those, and each one was light years better than Montblanc. Not only that, I will state that Montblanc offered the single worst service experience I have ever encountered with any product or any brand, and that include...

I have read your special story

 By: penfriend : July 6th, 2020-22:46
and agree that this was not professional at all. My experience with about 10 high end watches from Montblanc are flawless (the watches themselves but also the service that I once needed). On a note: when my Lange sax-o-mat was returned from service and th...

Well, your parcel must have been used as a soccer ball before it arrived!

Could the brand really have not mounted a hand correctly? I guess. Many years ago (2000-ish) I bought a Paul Picot watch. When it arrived, one numeral had detached from the dial and was floating. I returned it and did not try another.

Beautiful watch my friend

Merci, mon ami. [nt]
