Was looking for this classic from the last years of the Frey era for a while and I am happy to have found it 😊

Those applied lume numerals are characteristic.

The Cal. 48 with its Golden Ratio may look austere But is a pleasure to look at and listen to 👍🏻

When I got it I started looking for fitting straps and this was the first I found. Got a chocolate calf to try out yet and of course the original Flieger Minerva strap it came with. Glad you like it!

Lying in bed with manflu, so the room is too dark for reasonable movement shots but will try to amend that ASAP 👍🏻 In my review of the Minerva Pythagore there should be movement shots, too - let me check...

. . . is perhaps not fully appreciated by casual observers. The cal 48 (and 49) movements Minerva was putting out towards the end of the last century were assembled from parts produced decades earlier, if memory serves correct. Obviously, there are other ... 

They did that and as you said the parts were quite old in some cases. It really is such an interesting brand in my humble opinion and I have always had a soft spot for the Cal. 48 (and 49) 😊

I was (in the old days) heavily engaged in (but I did not last long after Richard (Page) sold it) and also in Minerva when JJ Frey and his father were running the company in Villeret. I compiled some facts about Minerva models, references etc that might ... 

Much appreciated 😊 I guess finding one of the limited edition TZ Minervas nowadays is neigh on impossible... From what I have seen some Pythagores have been produced under the Gnutti management, I know of a white gold model in 40mm, with the Cal. 48 movem... 

Our good friend Magnus will know more about what happened after the Frey period.

And I have seen it live, too - amazing how they managed to make it look balanced in a so much larger case 👌🏻
