Montblanc Villeret Tourbillon Bi-Cylindrique 110 Years Anniversary Limited Edition

Apr 07, 2016,01:39 AM

Montblanc just celebrated its 110th anniversary with a big bash in New York City!

You may have seen Fx's post on the video presented by Hugh Jackman, Montblanc's global ambassador. The video gave a nice overview of the founding and history of Montblanc.

Montblanc is paying tribute to 110 years of fine craftsmanship with a limited edition of three timepieces. The Montblanc Collection Villeret Tourbillon Bi-Cylindrique 110 Years Anniversary Limited Edition. Montblanc returns to its beginnings for the development of this new timepiece by recalling the design theme of the Maison’s first fountain pen series – the historic “Rouge et Noir” line – that features a serpent clip.

I have just shared the press release on our News Central and you can read them here:

www.watchprosite.com

I will be sharing more about this 110th Anniversary watch with live pictures very soon. The Bi-Cylinderique Tourbillon, the hand-engraving of the serpent makes this watch a real work of art!

Some live pictures to share for now. These are taken from the manufacture at Villeret (and not those professional pictures taken for marketing/PR so please bear with the more realistic pictures) smile
Stay tuned for my more detailed report.

And oh yes, Happy 110th Anniversary Montblanc! Continue to share the passion for fine watchmaking and craftsmanship and the arts! smile

Cheers
robin

The Mysterious Hours and Minutes is quite a signature with the Montblanc Villeret Bi-Cylinderique series.

The Bi-Cylinderique Tourbillon looks great and I have posted a video of it before in the previous iteration of this complication in another Montblanc Villeret watch.
We should do a Bi-Cylinderique vs Exo-Tourbillon - like Batman vs Superman!

Serpent engraving on the case back and each case is numbered from 1 to 3.

Beautiful piece of art on the dial

My youngest girl is born in the year of the snake but this watch will be too expensive for her lol. The snake is both a good and bad creature in many cultures. It also symbolises rebirth in some cultures which I like. I hope we can see this in the metal s...

with many great offerings and much reasonable price/value propositions ..JLC being the leader IMO . Though I am not brave enuf to wear any form of reptile () on my wrist I do admire the piece. Why do I see 4 hands on the dial...is that a re-reflection?

Yes Montblanc and JLC are both doing it right imho

My personal liking is very much in line with these 2 brands There are only 2 hands - the pictures show a reflection from the dial Cheers Robin

...and I really like the dimensionality this one. The only thing that doesn't work for me are the "Mysterious Hours." I also think this piece would be amazing with skeletonized plates and clear case back. Regardless, yet another amazing watch from Montbla...

Especially on the skeletonization and open back. Montblanc Villeret does bespoke projects too so maybe someone can commission such a project for them Cheers Robin

The snake is not very refined IMHO. This opportunity could have been better used. Thanks Robin. Fx

Not many can appreciate the snake . To see whether it is refined or not, it is best seen in the metal. My pics are taken from the manufacture and may not do the craftsmanship justice. Macro pics may show some secrets we don\'t see on first look Personally...
