Montblanc 1858 Split Seconds. My new obsession.

Jul 19, 2020,23:54 PM

New, I don't know since I fell in love from the first minute I saw it in 2019.

And the 2020 edition, with its titanium case and blue enamel dial doesn't help a lot to forget it!

Even if I still have to see this last iteration in the real life, just to be sure...

Best,

Nicolas

The movement and finish are sublime of course. But IMO there is a branding issue: being co-branded (Minerva-Montblanc) and with a wide range of finishes and price points, the package is difficult to read for most people who are not die-hard movement fans....

the logo is about 100 years old

 By: penfriend : July 20th, 2020-07:46
was the first logo they used on their fountain pens next to the Montblanc star; the discontinued Villeret edition has a different logo as you can see in various posts. When they launched the 1858 collection they decided to use this very old logo with the ...

It’s hard for me to come around to Montblanc!!!

I will, I just see pens sometimes, I am sorry!!! That is wrong of me, I know that, sometimes it’s hard to “shake” associations. But otherwise a beautiful piece, of funds were unlimited.... but they are not. I am a tad bit picky in what I get.

Sigh... not enough time to

See, and appreciate, all these nice pieces. A man only has two wrists, well, at least the majority of us do.

This must be the most value for money split seconds chronograph in the market now

I simply cannot think of anything near its asking price which can compete as an overall package.

100% Correct. [nt]
