Montblanc Villeret 1858 Grand Chronograph Black Enamel or Vintage Pulsographe?

 By: amanico : July 24th, 2016-02:15
White gold cases, 43, 5 mm for the Grand Chronographe, 39, 5 mm for the Vintage Pulsographe, Black Enamel or White Enamel, monopusher located in the crown for the Grand Chronographe, or at 2 o clock for the Vintage Pulsographe.... Snail or doctor? Cal 13....

The Vintage Pulsographe for me

The smaller case and the white dial make it appeal more to me. So when is yours arriving?

I would love so. [nt]

Only one letter different :)

But I hear you...

Slight nod to the black..

 By: Echi : July 24th, 2016-02:57
1) something about a black enamel snail dial that's quite alluring 2) 16.29.. The size just magnifies the beauty of the movement so I'm imagining it's more enjoyable to admire Doctor is nice. It's probably the more eye catching dial and white enamel is so...

Exactly what I think. But...

You know my silly rule when it comes to high end watches... no two watches with the same movement. Thanks, Echi. Best, Nicolas

But for those who don't have one, the dilemma is still a good one to have.

AND not sure I have to stick to a silly rule.

13.21

 By: chuck19 : July 24th, 2016-03:38
I think your rationale makes sense and on the \'right\' track, ie already owned a 16.29, mono -pusher and looking for a white dial. In the past, i much prefer the 16.29 larger movement and finishing but now that I get to understand better these Villeret m...

Thanks, Chuck. 16.29 and 13.21 are top chronograph movements. I will even say among the best from the current production, ALL brands included.

 By: amanico : July 24th, 2016-03:52
In terms of decoration, good finishings, of course. I will let you know how I will solve this dilemma.

Wait for a new offering with . . .

. . . 13.21 movement, black enamel dial with snail, hunter back, 39.5 mm steel case, and thru-crown monopusher. Then we both get one! M4

I think you nailed it.

The snail dial in the smaller case would be in the top two or three contemporary chronographs.

Now you are absolutely killing it.

Maybe as good (better?) than the Dato-or DS.

Equally tempted

 By: beerstyle : July 24th, 2016-08:38
I feel you Nico. I pre-ordered the 16.29 Cal 1858 rose gold and am tempted by the White Pulsographe. Issue is its price point is much higher sigh....hard call to make.

Same temptation here so totally feel u

 By: beerstyle : July 24th, 2016-08:41
But problem is white Pulsographe price point is much higher than the 1858 16.29 Cal.

From a biased opinion... it has to be the black dial!

 By: andrewluff : July 24th, 2016-11:45
Its a great watch and the black enamel snail dial is really stunning. But doesn't this have the same caliber as your other one? Cheers Andrew

Yes, 16.29, too. [nt]

You or me? ;) [nt]

Prefer the movement on the right

 By: Mostel : July 24th, 2016-18:43
It's absurd to choose from these 'illustrations'. Literally impossible to know which you would actually prefer.

life is unfair with these choices ?!

 By: mahesh : July 24th, 2016-21:45
love both snail dial & the white...fits different mood / state of mind. dilemma is the uninvited gift every watch lover gets ;-)

the fact i love about MB recently is...

 By: mahesh : July 24th, 2016-21:58
the last few years, MB is experimenting new things like an independent watchmaker would do, breaking the restraints of a heritage brand (like what Rolex or PP does).

Pink gold Pulsographe!

 By: DTL : July 26th, 2016-23:09
...with black enamel pulsations dial. The most beautiful chronograph from Villeret.

Snail!

Received this today from my boutique - sorry for the picture but I am in a rush, better next time. Was the last one available as far as I know. ...

Thank you :-)

 By: penfriend : December 6th, 2019-09:48
As the whole Villeret 1858 watches have been discontinued and are not being built anymore (and you cannot order as well anymore) I thought it was time to secure one

Wow never saw this thread

As you can see I couldn't decide either! As for measuring not sure I don't have a caliper I can post a photo on my wrist with then a wrist shot of a submariner to compare. ...

And you did very well!
