Latest incoming - the Minerva Pythagore A481 Aviation
By: KMII : December 18th, 2018-19:57
As some of you might have seen in last weekendβs wristscan, I have finally managed to bag the Minerva Pythagore that I have been on the hunt for since becoming the Montblanc moderator - the A6 Aviation (hereβs a link: www.watchprosite.com to an ea...
Thanks a lot MJ23!

In some ways the design grandfather of the 1858 line π
Thanks a lot, Raymond!
By: KMII : December 18th, 2018-22:34
Was looking for this classic from the last years of the Frey era for a while and I am happy to have found it π
Congrats
By: brauner : December 18th, 2018-22:16
Very traditional.
Thanks a lot!
By: KMII : December 18th, 2018-22:35
Youβre absolutely right - for a watch that was made in 1997 this was certainly a very traditional offering. Could have come from decades ago π
Congratulations.
By: Luis6 : December 18th, 2018-22:58
Those applied lume numerals are characteristic.
Thanks a lot, Luis!
By: KMII : December 18th, 2018-23:13
And fully naturally aged, too π The lume is very different to modern superluminova - when you expose it to light it doesnβt instantly get bright but takes a while. While never acquiring the brightness of a torchlight, it tends to remain luminous enough to...
Excellent catch!

Congrats Lot of snow in background On different note Minerva has always been special brand for me lot of history and beautiful movements pity Montblanc didn't leave name on dial Cheers D
The snow is Austrian in this case...
By: KMII : December 18th, 2018-23:49
The new one is yet to come π Youβre right about Minerva of course - still itβs nice that the tradition and movements live on within Montblanc.
Youβre right SF!
By: KMII : December 18th, 2018-23:50
Need to get around to ordering some new straps for the watch. This one was the right dimensions, so I thought of giving it a go π
Congrats KM!
By: reintitan : December 18th, 2018-23:35
That's a very classic pilot's watch with a great movement. Wear it in good health!
Thanks Reintitan!

The Cal. 48 with its Golden Ratio may look austere But is a pleasure to look at and listen to ππ»
Thanks a lot Watchonthewrist!
By: KMII : December 18th, 2018-23:52
When I got it I started looking for fitting straps and this was the first I found. Got a chocolate calf to try out yet and of course the original Flieger Minerva strap it came with. Glad you like it!
Man flu...
By: KMII : December 19th, 2018-08:05
Is a critical ailment but if treated with the right amount of caution and care, not deadly π
Thanks Nico!
By: KMII : December 18th, 2018-23:54
In the throes of a man-flu at the moment, so that will have to wait a bit but will do my best to quickly oblige!
Standard Cal. 48 - so austere but geometrically pleasing
By: KMII : December 19th, 2018-00:17
Lying in bed with manflu, so the room is too dark for reasonable movement shots but will try to amend that ASAP ππ» In my review of the Minerva Pythagore there should be movement shots, too - let me check...
Hereβs a link...

The 'linkage to vintage' your latest Minerva represents . . .
By: Dr No : December 19th, 2018-09:17
. . . is perhaps not fully appreciated by casual observers. The cal 48 (and 49) movements Minerva was putting out towards the end of the last century were assembled from parts produced decades earlier, if memory serves correct. Obviously, there are other ...
You are very right, Art!
By: KMII : December 19th, 2018-12:14
They did that and as you said the parts were quite old in some cases. It really is such an interesting brand in my humble opinion and I have always had a soft spot for the Cal. 48 (and 49) π
Lovely watch
By: Mostel : December 19th, 2018-14:37
Minerva... so nice.
Thanks Mostel!
By: KMII : December 19th, 2018-21:44
Couldnβt agree more π
Some factual information.
By: xyz123abc : December 25th, 2018-03:52
I was (in the old days) heavily engaged in (but I did not last long after Richard (Page) sold it) and also in Minerva when JJ Frey and his father were running the company in Villeret. I compiled some facts about Minerva models, references etc that might ...
Thanks a lot for adding this, Kjell!
By: KMII : December 25th, 2018-05:21
Much appreciated π I guess finding one of the limited edition TZ Minervas nowadays is neigh on impossible... From what I have seen some Pythagores have been produced under the Gnutti management, I know of a white gold model in 40mm, with the Cal. 48 movem...
I have seen pictures of it.
