Doing well!

Apr 03, 2012,23:31 PM

Doing well, but missing Los Angeles, wished I did more things when I was living down there.

Very rough weather that day, got very wet more than once.  But this didn't dampen this Montblanc event.

Hope you are well too!

and building its reputation well on all levels. Thanks for the write up Patrick. I am sure TM challenged many preconceptions during his keynote. I see a Patek I wonder what this gentleman Purist thought of the quality of the finish compared to PP. Best, M...

Lots of Patek Philippes, lots of walls knocked down...

Indeed, many perceptions were challenged by TM, much of the smoke and mirrors were cleared. But in the end, the aftermath is a well informed consumer base able to make educated decisions and able to reasonably expect more from the vendors. This also keeps...

Superb article, Patrick.

Nicely illustrated and pleasantly written. I must confess that I am paying more and more interest in Montblanc Monopusher Chronos. Not that the Chronograph is my favourite complication, but when it is that exquisitely built, it is hard to not fall in love...

The monopusher chrono is my favorite of the Villeret series...

 By: patrick_y : April 4th, 2012-00:44
Thank you Nicolas for your kind words. As always, I'm so enthralled that our views, our perceptions, and even our tastes are so similar in many ways. The Monopusher chrono 16-29 is my favorite of the Villeret series. I still recall our equal enjoyment of ...

Thank you Patrick, Montblanc, Dr. Mao, and Anthony

You are most welcome Richard! It was a pleasure to take the time and effort to prepare this report! Remembering you like photography, I hope you get a picture of one of the movements. Once you have a picture of a VIlleret, compare it to other high horolog...

It is always great to see old friends from the PuristS.

Likewise!

So glad that you could attend and to see you again! Glad you enjoyed the good company!

Thank you.

 By: ingmar : April 4th, 2012-18:24
It's one thing to attend or even put together an event. But often another to follow up so extensively. While I live nearby and considered attending, I ultimately decided not to and now regret it. Personally the Timewalker has never done it for me, though ...

Hope to see you in the near future!

 By: patrick_y : April 4th, 2012-23:30
Sorry to have missed you. I never thought I'd like the Timewalker either, as my tastes run into more classic and conservative watches. However, if I ever needed a nice casual watch with a young personality, I'd actually now consider this model. Hope to ca...

It was a great event.....

Thank you so much to everyone that was involved in putting it together!

Glad you enjoyed the event!

 By: patrick_y : April 5th, 2012-16:11
Glad you enjoyed the event! I can't take any credit for putting it together. I'm just another attendee. However, as another attendee, many thanks to Montblanc and PuristSPro for getting us all together for this event!

Thank you for viewing Stefan. Indeed, that TImewalker Chrono with slate dial looks very nice indeed. A simple sleek modern watch that would go well in a business casual, to casual, to urban setting.

 By: patrick_y : April 11th, 2012-23:56
According to my photos, it has arrived to the San Francisco boutique. Great looking casual watch with a GMT function that further increases its usage....

Patrick, you have done a fantastic event coverage.

 By: ling5hk : April 13th, 2012-17:20
I agree with Thomas' comment on brand perception that influences individual's decision. More often than not, we are one of them who fall into the marketing gimmick guise. In fact, we should be thankful that there are brands like Montblanc and others that ...

And you are a fantastic judge of superlative coverage...

 By: patrick_y : April 14th, 2012-11:40
Great to hear from you Ling! Indeed, we both have many smiliarities in tastes. I would argue that Villeret exceeds the finishing standards exhibited by almost all of the famous Swiss brands, including the mainstream powerhouse brands. The monopusher is a ...

Great work Patrick!

Wished you were here with your wicked AP Offshore! Wished you could've made it to SF as well.
