Announcing the winners of the Montblanc Villeret TimeWriter II contest

Nov 15, 2012,21:12 PM

As all of us know, this contest was difficult and challenged our community's understanding of mechanical engineering.

But in true PuristS form our members researched and disected the heart of the TimeWriter II Bi-Fréquence 1000 to understand Mr. Gomila's brillant idea.

Out of the all the entries there was one grand prize winner who answered every question correctly.

Please help me congratulate Tick Talk!

Tick Talk will be enjoying an all expense paid trip to Montblanc's workshop in Villeret!

Two other PuristS came darn close.  Both Grumio and Izatis answered all but one question correctly.  Grumio entered the contest first...so help me congratulate him as the second place winner.

Grumio will be receiving a writing instrument from Montblanc's 100 years collection.

And of course please also congratulate Izatis who will be receiving a custom Montblanc Ipad cover from their leather collection.

As an interesting aside, here is the final distribution of the answers from all the entries combined.  As proof of the PuristS concept of 1-7-8, our collective intellect answered all the questions correctly except for the first...and we weren't too far off on that one either!

Again please join me in congratulating the winners and help me give thanks to Montblanc for their immense generosity and support of PuristSPro.

Best, Mike

Congrats to the winners. It was a difficult test especially considering that you could research the answers. But it helps to understand the engineering when you have to break it down. Looking forward to the trip report.

Very nice performance from our fellow purists,

The next person beyond these three moved in tow two wrong answers. The biggest worry was that no one would get all correct and put the "Purists" honor at stake. So I thank Tick Talk for saving our honor and Grumio and Izatis for their contribution. The se...
