Unusual watch

Great release this year, it's a reedition of chronograph that is very charming.

One thing I noticed when looking at the scales on the new version's dial is that the subdials are positioned more towards the centre with the re-edition, compared to the original. I recall seeing with the Vacheron Cornes de Vache too. Usually a challenge to maintain the subdial proportions from 80 years ago, but would be less so with Minerva movements.

Watches and Wonders 2022: A review on the Montblanc 1858 Minerva Mono pusher Chronograph Red Arrow..

 By: amanico : June 4th, 2022-07:55
This year, Montblanc revisited another jewel from the Minerva Patrimony, with the 1858 Minerva Monopusher Chronograph Red Arrow. Here is the original chronograph, issued in the very late Thirties. Credit picture: Christies. It was a giant chronograph for ...

A wonderful review of this MB 1858 Minerva, and fascinating insight into the movement history!

42mm 19.9 was certainly massive, and nice that they had shrunk it down, but I agree that perhaps the case on this 13.21 version could have been made at 40mm to blend better. However, one could contrast this with the 5070 which, though the case:movement ma...

absolutely spot on - W&W has least exciting watches below 50kCHF (if we stretch a bit - even below 100k CHF)...

I'm fond of the minerva calibers & mont-blanc does great job in adding family members to the monopusher chronographs. I love the knurled bezel too...gives a different vibe. given my wrist size, I would enjoy a 40mm case but the one I miss dearly in th...

No question this is an amazing offering from Montblanc and they really seem to up their game with those year release. Thanks for the great review Nicolas…

I think I am falling harder for the unveiled secret version here for its “wow” factor, which is not something I am after normally!

Nice write-up as always, Nico!

I am not surprised that you prefer this watch. Not being too much a fan of darker dials and with the secret unveiled my choice was apparent as well But having handled this watch for half an hour at least I can only concur that it is a very fine offering b...

Still have a present for you

Actually two - so when do we Hentschel? Cheers from Gran Canaria

The watches should be ready this month. A matter of two or three weeks. So we are checking if there is a possibility to make it end June or Mid July.

OR if we make it in Paris... A present for me, or two??? Wow!!! I am curious like a child in front of the Xmas tree.

Wonderful review, my friend!

love the overall package, especially the beveled lugs. and I totally agree with you, the price point is very intriguing considering the craftsmanship. thanks for the fantastic review, it's been a pleasure to read it cheers

Wonderful review Nico, I am also very enamored with the onion crown.

And wish they would do it more often on these Minerva pieces.

I love that watch Nico, and I regret selling it.

But with the purchase of the 16.31, I didn’t feel like I needed two blue montblanc chronos. The winding felt so much more smooth and buttery on the 16.29 vs the 16.31 that feels a bit more stiff. I’m not sure if the crown had any effect on that?

I doubt so, Jorge. ;)

When it comes to chronograph movements, these Minerva sculptures are in the upper tier of design and finish (just pure eye candy). Agreed that they are bang for the buck. However, I personally have difficulty seeing Minerva's branded as Montblanc. To me t...

At least they are honest

snail is always amazing

IMHO 1858 tach has better back whereas Red Arrow has gorgeus front. tough choice.

 By: Gelato Monster : August 4th, 2022-00:13
As much as I like the Red Arrow front, I dont like its back at all (cramped and small). Perhaps because of its snail design they have to make it 42mm while 13.21 is too small for 42mm. so 1858 Tach for me for the time being The perfect chrono choice would...
