I got it and love it...size , font , finishing , beautiful strap..just wished they didn’t put the Mont Blanc name on the dial..otherwise one of the most beautiful chronograph I have. ..

H edition - 25 pcs - steel case Monopusher

 By: mahesh : September 25th, 2019-06:59
Minerva M13,21 movement on steel case.....US30k* what do you think of this Black dial version ? personally i feel the Blue dial Montblanc Monopusher few years before was spot on & the movement finish was brilliant too. Pic Credit : Hodinkee Pic Credit : H...

Here you are...

 By: amanico : September 25th, 2019-07:07
...

merci mon amis !

 By: mahesh : September 25th, 2019-07:39
that sets the debate tone ;-)

Pleasure. [nt]

 By: amanico : September 25th, 2019-08:14

Well, definitely not a perpetual calendar. LOL.

 By: M4 : September 25th, 2019-07:09
Nice watch, but $30,000 seems too much. M4

Sounds like the experience is the sell

 By: tom18 : September 25th, 2019-09:59
The trip sounds interesting although there isn't a ton of detail on that (flight class, hotel, meals). Is this really a trip with a nice souvenir watch included?

:)))) [nt]

 By: amanico : September 25th, 2019-13:27

monopusher chrono with a movement - not bad pricing....

 By: mahesh : September 25th, 2019-07:40
unless you're comparing with all other possible watches for that price - then it is apples vs oranges...

I think this is absolutely gorgeous, nearly perfect

 By: cholack : September 25th, 2019-07:50
My main criticism of the 1858 Tachy Bleu with cal 16.29 is the diameter of the piece. For me, having “evolved” my tastes to vintage size proportions, 42mm is too big for me. This H edition hits the right size at 40mm and 12mm something in thickness. And w...

i agree 40mm is right sized...

 By: mahesh : September 25th, 2019-07:53
i think 42 made sense for cal 16,29 i'm very much like you, i prefer 40mm or less but i felt the 42mm case sat well on the wrist when i tried out. i feel the blue dial was 'more' lively than the black but probably that is just me...

It is not even 42 mm. It is 44 mm ( Tachy Blue ). With the Hondinkee, you have exactly the same thing than this one.

 By: amanico : September 25th, 2019-08:14
The only difference being the color of the dial and the hands... Which is not enough for me... ...

I am a bit unimpressed by the dial side.

 By: jlux : September 25th, 2019-08:39
The movement is of course superb.

naah [nt]

 By: Gelato Monster : September 25th, 2019-08:57

Pretty OK

 By: vitalsigns : September 25th, 2019-09:06
Movement is nice, of course. Seems very stealthy. Hands are a bit boring. Dislike monopushers in general, as I prefer the ability to start/stop/start again the chrono function without reset. $30K is too expensive IMO, whether limited edition or not. I cou...

Split

 By: coz : September 25th, 2019-10:35
I was hoping this version was a steel cased split second version...

thanks John...i'm happy you found at least me posting it here is a positive thing ;-)

 By: mahesh : September 25th, 2019-12:41
cheer up...the watch world is bigger & beyond 'H' ;-)

Hah, no worries...I'm truly not dour over this offering :)

 By: vitalsigns : September 25th, 2019-14:57
And I know there will be many watches offered that I won't like for some reason, but others will. That's what makes a market. Cheers, John

I really like it as it exudes 1930s old skool charm

 By: reintitan : September 25th, 2019-10:34
As I stated before I would really have preferred that they kept the Minerva name for the watches while Mont Blanc was reserved for the pens and leather goods. The dial and hands are IMHO much cleaner and easier on the eyes than the regular production mode...

We're currently experiencing a heat wave here in California

 By: reintitan : September 25th, 2019-15:59
Almost 100 F where I'm at today. Bring on those Swiss February temps I say

what...i just got 12 watches more to buy ?!

 By: mahesh : September 26th, 2019-01:40
how sad...if i want a 5711 it already takes 4 years now :-(

Grey market will be the way to go.

 By: reintitan : September 26th, 2019-15:11
Greta will agree I'm sure. )

Define “all expenses paid”....

 By: Clueless_Collector : September 25th, 2019-17:04
What class of flight, lodging and food 😅 I’m curious to know the details although it’s all sold out.

That's why I put it in quotes :-)

 By: reintitan : September 25th, 2019-17:15
It could mean anything and everything between flying first class and staying in a suite to being Ben Clymer's personal assistant during the entire trip

:))))) [nt]

 By: amanico : September 25th, 2019-21:58

Nope. Not feeling it

 By: Mr.Gatsby : September 25th, 2019-10:44
Feel that it’s over priced. Dial is boring too.

you mean Gold watches ?!

 By: mahesh : September 25th, 2019-12:44
steel are exclusive - isn't it ;-)

One has to admit

 By: FlyingSnoopy : September 25th, 2019-12:17
that the marketing idea to include an exclusive trip to Minerva is a great idea The movement is gorgeous I would also have preferred to have Minerva on the dial but this has been, I think, debated a few times... Cheers

+1

 By: mahesh : September 25th, 2019-12:46
it would be interesting experience to visit a manufacture...but 30k, i would think twice

ROFL! [nt]

 By: amanico : September 25th, 2019-21:50

If this was a regular production piece, I'd give it a thumbs up..

 By: Echi : September 25th, 2019-19:26
But I don't see how this one even being limited to 25 trumps current offerings. I think they did a good job with the VC for example. It made people think, yeah, VC should have designed it the way HDK did. But here, I don't get that vibe. To be honest, I t...

i'm sure you're not alone...

 By: mahesh : September 26th, 2019-00:36
but at least there are 25 ppl who believe otherwise

Hahaha ! True ... [nt]

 By: ZSHSZ : September 26th, 2019-00:58

I'm a bit confused ...

 By: CL : September 26th, 2019-04:58
why are there so many people here who hate this watch? Aren't the non-limited edition watch around this price or even more expensive? If so, why will people consider this over price when it even comes with a trip> Am I missing out something?

+1 [nt]

 By: mahesh : September 26th, 2019-05:20

Ah I see...

 By: CL : September 26th, 2019-16:42
I thought there's something else. Thanks for the clarification.

Well...if you have to ask

 By: Mr.Gatsby : September 26th, 2019-09:32
I don’t think people hate it. It’s just hard to get enthusiastic with the product at that price point. Why it’s considered expensive is simple. Just think about what you can do with 30 grand. Although value, price...I gotta say it’s relative and differs f...

+1k

 By: mahesh : September 26th, 2019-11:32
I completely agree, it doesn’t connect to the senses. 30k you’re ready in the zone of FPJ CS Pt or WG Daytona or GMT Master 2 Pepsi Meteorite - lemme say too many choices to win over ! Best, Mahesh.,

You get my point ;-) NT [nt]

 By: Mr.Gatsby : September 26th, 2019-22:32

30k for this movement and such finishing...

 By: CL : September 26th, 2019-16:44
I think it is a good buy. But I agree with Amanico that one might as well go with the green version, which is cooler..

Exactly my point. [nt]

 By: amanico : September 26th, 2019-23:14

I expressed it too literally and

 By: CL : September 26th, 2019-16:45
you understood it too literally too

Ok, I'll go on record as saying, "I like this one."

 By: jmpTT : September 26th, 2019-19:48
Conceptually, it's a bit bananas. Take one of the finest chronograph movements in the world and turn it into a knockabout watch. Throw it on an appropriate strap, get the seals checked every year and you can theoretically wear this watch while cannonballi...

I hope Mont Blanc comes out with a non-LE version of this watch but with a twist

 By: reintitan : September 27th, 2019-15:40
Minerva name only on the dial Grade-5 Titanium case 😮 Remove the caliber name from the dial (just silly) Price it USD15k tops or lower No free trip to Villeret Save one for me

We all have to have dreams my friend ;-))

 By: reintitan : September 27th, 2019-16:37
So dream big

Why not?

 By: reintitan : September 27th, 2019-18:46
Probably close to actual production costs, too. Add in some big name "brand ambassadors" though and the price will likely double.

I definitely can't! ;) [nt]

 By: amanico : September 28th, 2019-01:49

I have to say...

 By: KMII : October 2nd, 2019-06:50
I quite like it. The size is better for my wrist (selfish reason, I know) and I really prefer he black dial to the green one. The 100m WR is quite helpful, too - not that I would necessarily swim with it but at least you would not get nervous getting caug...

I fully agree...

 By: KMII : October 9th, 2019-07:16
But also understand why they did it - without it would look practically indistinguishable from the one with the ETA movement - which some might see as a feature but many would consider a big flaw (I am sure you remember the discussions on this topic from ...

Congratulations!

 By: KMII : October 9th, 2019-07:17
And I agree - there's a lot to like here! Hope you will enjoy yours for many years to come

Green

 By: perregaux1 : November 9th, 2019-09:25
guys what about this one? Is it worth buying? I quite like it but not sure i could continue liking it for a long time to come. Thanks ...

It is beautiful no doubt

 By: mahesh : November 9th, 2019-09:40
It depends on your collection, if you’re looking for a versatile watch I wouldn’t count on this.
