Jaeger-LeCoultre

Help me please...I am in trouble

The past weeks I have been infatuated with the Reverso TTas some of you might know. Now that I am back home in KL, Malaysia, I can finally go visit the AD tomorrow for the Wrist test Challenge which I am planning to do tomorrow morning.

The original contenders: Reverso TT vs Master Chrono.

The trouble I have is below which I happen to see today.

So now it looks like a 3-way challenge: Reverso TT vs Master Chrono vs Reverso Duo

Why is the Duo a strong challenger?

1) Its always been on my wanted-list, especially this model with the recessed button

2) Its got REAL patina on the 3,9,12.

3) it comes with a tang buckle which is my preferred choice versus a deployant

4) And finally its in excellent condition and it looks handsome on my wrist.

The downside:

i) It doesnt come with box and papers.

The other thought is also something Amanico said previously on his thoughts about DSA vs the Reverso TT. The TT will still continue to be in production, its not limited like the DSA. So similarly in my case, its not everyday you come across a Duo like this....at least not here in Malaysia.

However I just noticed something, and i am hoping someone can help me out.

For the first time, I have jus noticed on both dials, the Jaeger Le Coultre logo does not have the underline below the name which connects the J and E. Does anyone know the reason behind this? and is this only applicable for the Duo or which other model has this? At first i thought it could be a fake but I did a quick search on the internet to clarify this.

While I love the patina on the numerals on the dark side...I never knew the Duo had tritium. Is this correct? This watch has serial number 1841833. Does anyone know from which year is this and would it match to the period where JLC still uses tritium?

The other thing I would like to ask is with regard to the engraving on the caseback, the engraving is very faint/light. is this normal? Also the JLC name at the bottom has almost faded off the "Jae.." Is this normal from the wear and tear experience of Duo owners?

I would certainly appreciate it very much if anyone can shed some light on the above.

And of course, the final question, what should I do?

I will still go visit the AD tomorrow as I plan. But with the Duo being such a strong candidate now....its really messed me up.

In fact the Duo has won over the Chrono for me so in a way I kind of shortlisted the contenders. but its such a tough decision.
