What is, according to you, the most popular Jaeger Lecoultre?

 By: amanico : February 5th, 2020-23:32
Is it the Reverso, and if yes, which one, or a round watch, such as the Polaris or the Deep Sea Alarm or the Duometre or??? At the contrary of some other brands, Jaeger Lecoultre is not cannibalized by one model. For example, Audemars Piguet has the Royal...

When popular means popular not only in the purists view, i think there is no way for the deep sea, even though that is my favorite watch from any brand. Id say the Reverso with the guiloche

 By: Reuven Malter : February 6th, 2020-00:17
dial (pre ca. 2016) is their most popular model because i have seen it on not-purists wrists many times. But i also feel like their classic models (like the MUT date) are a bit younger than similar dress watches by other brands due to their very clever in...

For purists, it has to be the deep sea.

Its funny that noone seems to love their black dailed PC even if this piece is complex and sporty (what many people seem to like)

Reverso for me...

 By: patrick_y : February 6th, 2020-02:01
Some of the old forum members know this; but for those who don't... The first watch I had a passion for was Reverso by Jaeger-LeCoultre. First love. I've always loved the shape of the case and the Art Deco style since before I was a teenager. I never real...

I am not sure about most popular,

But that watch you have pictured, definitely has the most sex appeal.

Tricky question...

 By: th.gr.ga : February 6th, 2020-03:23
Popular for whom? And on what basis? Should I venture a guess, I imagine Reverso is, by far, the model most readily associated with JLC amongst watch buyers in general. It has the longest and most enduring history; while other models, e.g. the Memovox or ...

I suppose one would have to ask JLC to get a definitive answer...

 By: kev09 : February 6th, 2020-04:05
...but from a personal point of view it would have to be the Reverso. Iconic, timeless and innovative design, and IMHO there’s never been one produced that doesn’t look good. Regards Kev.

My guess would be the Reverso

 By: Uncle Chico : February 6th, 2020-04:09
because of the history, recognition factor, and multitude of models available. My favorite is the Duomètre series which leaves me borderline breathless.

I'd say you've pictured here one of their *less* popular models...

 By: blau : February 6th, 2020-05:29
My understanding is that they only sold 359 of them!

True! ;) [nt]

 By: amanico : February 6th, 2020-23:16

It's got to be the Reverso.

 By: jlux : February 6th, 2020-05:55
Quite popular amongst my friends and colleagues. Especially the ladies seem to like it a lot. For me the Reverso works best when it is simple and elegant : the "Burgundy" would be my favorite.

My guess on the most popular JLC

 By: Watcholic_id : February 6th, 2020-06:27
among watch enthusiasts (general enthusiast & purists) would be the Reverso because of the history, the iconic shape & it has been in JLC's collection longer than other popular models i.e Memovox, Geophysic, Polaris etc.

🤞🏾🤞🏾 [nt]

 By: Watcholic_id : February 7th, 2020-03:56

I would have to say the Reverso is the ICON for JLC Nico even though I prefer other models within your line up...

 By: holdemchamp1225 : February 6th, 2020-07:54
if we were to take a poll from a larger sample size, I would assume the Reverso would be the majority of the responses when someone thinks about JLC.

The Reverso

 By: brauner : February 6th, 2020-10:03
what else? One of few watches with a rectangular case.

Popular is tough to say

 By: Brandon Skinner : February 6th, 2020-10:32
But for me, if I could buy only one realistic JLC it would be the US DSA as you have posted here. And much less realistically, the Gyro 2 in Platinum is on my Mt. Rushmore of ALL TIME Grails.

I'm thinking, to the general watch populace, you bark "JLC!" they bark "Reverso!"

 By: onnomon : February 6th, 2020-14:14
But the entire "vox" line runs long and deep....Memovox to Polaris to Amvox to Polaris. I am partial to vintage Polaris models and the first re-issue, but especially partial to the AMVOX 1, part of the Polaris lineage.

I actually like Atmos most!

 By: kesharoo : February 6th, 2020-20:45
but Reverso is king of the JLCs...

A clock which requires no winding or battery!

Mad science!!!!!!!

Reverso. From a popular pov vs an enthusiast pov..

 By: Echi : February 6th, 2020-20:53
Having said that, I wonder if their sales reflect it.

It's what drew me first to JLC.. a simple one in GT case in the early 2000s. It just has the makings of an iconic watch..

 By: Echi : February 8th, 2020-19:23
The story behind it, the folks who've worn it, the art deco era, the design itself arguably rivalled only by the Cartier tank. From a sports standpoint, i wish they REALLY concentrated on one line to rival the Rolexes and Omegas of the horo world.. I'd pr...

As a relative new member to this wonderful forum I must say that my first Experience with this name brand

 By: aperna : February 7th, 2020-05:45
Was the master compressor line. However, that was because of my interest in tool watches. I actually knew about the reverso line Long before that but never really appreciated its history or the brand.

Yes! I would say Master Compressor ...

 By: Greenwatch : February 7th, 2020-16:04
But now after 10 years, it’s the Reverso line. Burgundy gets my vote.

Not a bad choice! [nt]

 By: amanico : February 7th, 2020-16:09

Not an expert

 By: Jurry : February 11th, 2020-08:44
I’m not an expert on JLC but I would guess it’s the Reverso. Such an icon watch with great story behind and one million different iterations. Not my most favorite JLC but alas. My vote would go to Duometre (the older one with that free floating rotating t...

The Duometre in platinum comes with a platinum / silver-ish dial or off white dial in boutique edition...

 By: holdemchamp1225 : February 11th, 2020-09:03
the black dial Duometre you are referring to would be in white gold 👍

You’re absolutely correct.

 By: Jurry : February 11th, 2020-09:27
Didn’t have the details available just the picture in my head

No problem, since I have both I just wanted to give you the correct info...

 By: holdemchamp1225 : February 11th, 2020-09:31
I figured that you just mixed up the details in any case 😁😉

Correct. [nt]

 By: amanico : February 11th, 2020-14:59

First ..... this is a crazy question. And a great question. I can’t answer. For a purist, I say vintage geophysic. Easy. Otherwise, reverso. Or duometre. It’s a tough question.

 By: watchthatman : February 12th, 2020-20:28
And fascinating because it’s not one reverso or one duometre in my mind, but the category that counts. But geophysic is one of most special watches out there, it is my grail, and so that’s easily on top.

For modern, I’d say duometre, tied possibly with reverso. For me reverso is so true to its vintage roots, that it’s hard to call it modern, even if it is.

 By: watchthatman : February 13th, 2020-03:46
But duometre is such a unique, special watch, and seems to be so admired by enthusiasts, that’s an easy on too. Why I say possibly reverso too is that there are so many stunning modern versions of this one. Some simple, like the rouge or the bleu, others ...

A tricky question...

 By: jkvs : February 23rd, 2020-13:53
When it comes to a sporty watch it has to be the Deep Sea Alarm imo. It is an undeniable icon of JLC, combining the alarm function with a heavy and waterproof case. But if you are looking for a watch that is the incarnation of understatement which is typi...
