I've received my copy of the Foulkes booking today

and to be honest, for the money (195 euro), I'm foulking disappointed. If it had been a free gift from the JLC boutique when buying a Reverso (I expect it will be soon, to add insult to injury) I'd probably be a bit more pleased. This offering really does make me appreciate the 2006 History of the Grande Maison book that I was given by the AD when I bought my MUT Moon in 2019.
I guess I expected the 'more style than substance' effort when I first found out there would be a book about the Reverso back in July 2020 but I can't help thinking with a bit of planning it could've been far more indepth, a visual history of as many Reverso models as the JLC archive can provide.
I don't doubt the Foulkes guy had difficult decisions to make....'do I include this full page picture of Twiggy from 1971 not wearing a Reverso or do I include a picture showing the gorgeous details of the Mucha watches?'. 'Do I put in this full page photo of a Porsche or a photo of all the dial options from the 30s and 40s'? 'At what point in this 246 page book should I start mentioning the Reverso rather than waffle on about Art Deco in the 1920s?'
I wasn't expecting a 'Moonwatch Only' style nerdfest....but it could've been so much better.
