Jaeger Lecoultre Reverso. From the Soixantième to the Quantième Perpétuel: 10 years of a Saga.

1991 - 2000. A saga of ten years, housing the most classic, traditional horological complications. At that time, the universe of fine watches, at Jaeger Lecoultre, was rectangular, not round. Not that there were not great watches, from the early 90's to t...

Extraordinary post!

What is sad is to see where the Reverso was 10 years ago and where it is now. The recline is evident and very disappointing. With demand for larger cases complications could have taken the Reverso even further but instead it has gone much simpler instead....

Thank you for this post! That Reverso Géographique has been in my dreams for...well, since about 1999 when I discovered it in the JLC catalogue (now gone, purged by a girlfriend with so many other catalogues from the time...argh!) and immediately fell in ...

I agree that this RG series is the top of the top. But this was a different era, where the Reverso was the King ( or the Queen ) in the JLC Kingdom.

As for the Geographique, I agree with you, if I had to pick a favorite, I would hesitate a bit between the Geo, the Tourbillon and the Chrono. And I think the Geographique would be my pick. For the complication and for the decoration of the two dials. Bes...

Brilliant!

Thank you for this - I’ve been waiting patiently! I love the fact that, to misquote Monty Python, someone decided “It’s [the Reverso] not dead yet.” It must have take some considerable persuasion to commit the funds to develop these movements and to fit t...

thank you Nico, it makes you wonder where all the creativity has gone at “la Maison”. Do we have to wait till the 90th anniversary?

Merci, mon ami. [nt]

As you perhaps remember I am searching for the „ultimate“ PC regarding aesthetics and practicability (= readability). The Reverso PC is high on my wishlist. So I read your post with the utmost interest. Best Thomas

Great overview of some wonderful watches

Definitely something to aspire to owning one of them, but the whole set would be something else. Rose gold suits them very well. Also I think what is the perfect Reverso case size the GT. Big enough to hold some wonderful complications, yet small enough t...

Thank you for the Reverso tour! I saved reading this until I got to my laptop, mobile does not do these justice!

Great shots and amazing curation of some special Reversos! I've been off and on keeping an eye out for that chronograph, LOVE the way they leveraged the Reverso for that complication. I would wear it chrono side out most of the time and enjoy flipping it ...

Wow, Nicolas, what a tour!

Seeing these together is a treat. Makes me proud of my comparatively modest Reverso Duoface. The artistry of these rectangular beauties has never been clearer. The Géographique and Perpetual Calendar are especially attractive to me.
