Thanks for your insight and take on these beauties Nico. The M C.D. w. is superb. I agree with a lot, but in contrary to you I kind of like the writing “automatic”, because the JL logo is so big I think it would look a bit empty without. Thanks! Lars

Watches and Wonders 2022: A review on the Jaeger Lecoultre Master Control Date and Master Control Calendar Blue Dials.

 By: amanico : June 27th, 2022-08:36
You certainly kept in mind that when we saw the new Master Control Line in 2020, we were hoping that, one day, a colored version would come. Some thought, logically, that a black dial would " land ". Logically as for more than 20 years, steel cases were a...

Both are highly attractive watches.

Elegance and style are two attributes that I associate with JLC and here these two watches certainly deliver! Same as you I find the case shape and proportions of these Master Control watches very convincing and the blue dials are sublime. Between the two...

Wonderful review! And god...

... this photo is killing... ... because it shows how, to my eyes, incredible beautiful these now discontinued hands are. And, that having those hands, a watch can be so pure and still so exciting in its simplicity. No additional text, a date for convenie...

Superb write-up

I thoroughly enjoyed it! Having a soft spot for the MC Date, especially now in blue, this is a very compelling offering from JLC. The fine details of the dial , including the sun ray finish and second dimensional minute track add interesting depth

Thanks for the great review Nico.

Both are handsome looking watches, with the Calendar being my favourite. I have no issue with "Automatique" but I don't like "Quantieme a Date Sautante", although if I had this watch I am sure I would "tune out" this text after a short time of wearing the...

Thanks for the review

The MC Date is my absolute favourite. Personally I would have placed a slightly larger JLC simple logo at the top and used the Jaeger Le Coultre signature in the lower half, instead of the word Automatique that does not add much and looks unnecessarily ol...

Agreed, Leopold.

this in a Sector Dial

Would a Sector Dial in the Callander moon phase work?

PS: Welcome here, Nick!

I think it is a WONDERFUL addition (and edition)...

 By: watchme : June 28th, 2022-18:04
to the Master Control series. It fulfills one wish of mine, the continuation of the platinum series. I DO think, in like fashion, that a hinged case back would have been nice, but the old style would have been too thick. If JLC had introduced a PP-style "...

Great reviews and post!!!

Looking forward to your review of the new Polaris Green Dial.

Dear Nico, Once again we are indebted to you...

 By: halgedahl : July 1st, 2022-11:57
..for such a complete overview of these two new pieces. One thing surprises me—that no one (unless I have missed a comment) has mentioned the sportiness of this new MC Date. For me, who rarely has an opportunity to wear formal watches anymore, this is the...

"… it plays a more casual card."

Nico, your mastery of english idioms is impressive. FH

I saw these in the boutique.

My preference is for the simple date one. Cheers fernando ...
