Thank you Nicolas!

1/ THE CASE AND CASE BACK:

I don't really see any Pros to the exhibition case back personally. Would the watch be slightly thinner with a solid case back? Would the alarm sound slightly stronger with a solid caseback? If so, I would consider those significant Cons against the see-through case back.

2/ THE BRACELET:

I agree with you about the polished outer links. I would prefer the bracelet to be completely brushed. And I think it's a real shame they didn't include quick size extensions, such as those found in my Squadra Hometime bracelet (which are extremely useful).

3/ THE CROWNS:

I agree with you again! I would have loved to see all three crowns being screw-down.

4/ THE DIAL AND HANDS:

It is very disappointing that the minute hand lume cannot be distinguished from the indices. What a beautiful dial though!

Thank you for such a thorough review, and lovely pictures as always! It's a beautiful watch, but has some flaws that stop me from purchasing it, especially given the steep price.

An in-depth and on the wrist review on the Jaeger Lecoultre Polaris Memovox Mariner.

 By: amanico : September 1st, 2021-09:01
As you know, the Jaeger Lecoultre Polaris Memovox Mariner was issued one year ago, in September 2020, more precisely. I have always been surprised by the timing issue of a diving watch by Jaeger Lecoultre. Indeed, to me, it would have been more appropriat...

Interesting discovery about the lume, as that has been part of the marketing pictures used. A really nice watch but I agree on the point you raise about the price. To me, JLC has added 10-15% too much. Not sure the brand can carry that kind of weight. I t...

I see it as a very good complement of the former / vintage Polaris, too. A nice homage. Thanks, Claus, for your input.

In my opinion, this watch would be almost perfect with a matching blue rubber strap or, like you wrote, a 100% brushed bracelet. I found an illustration of the Mariner equipped with such a rubber strap on WatchPatrol. All the best ...

You are right, having the choice is the way to go. Or a superb rough navy blue calf strap! Thanks, mon ami.

Great review and pics! All q’s answered esp bracelet.. Good design except for the points you mentioned re polish and lack of micro adjust. All in all a good watch to consider but for the price :-)

Hi Great review - echoes some of my thoughts, though I still need to see one in the metal. Definitely like to see it available on a strap - as not the biggest fan of bracelets, also while it's nice to see the movement think I'd prefer a solid caseback and...

I can imagine it vey well on a navy blue calf strap, water resistant. THAT would be terrific. Thanks for your feedback, my friend.

Thanks, Jon. The Amvox is very good, but only 50 meters water resistant. As for the James Cameron, it is not an alarm. ;)

Not so sure the watch would be much thinner with a solid case back. Yes, I think the alarm would be louder with a solid case back. And yes, I would have preferred a much more different lume for the minute hand.

Balanced with pros and cons. It dawned on me, the Polaris Mariner is a very beautiful watch that happens to be a dive watch. The dive specs are secondary to its unique looks. I much prefer the Tribute to 1968 to this, but that piece has a lower water resi...
