Thanks to all for your responses and thoughts.
I'm not sure what I'll do with the watch for now - i don't actually wear watches at all (use my Blackberry instead to keep track of time - blasphemy I know! hehe) and if this watch is as valuable as i've been led to believe, I definitely don't want to risk wearing it and damaging/losing it.
