Superb review, Nico. Way more enjoyable than read the new release of (cough) Rolex today.

I like the blue hue, the case proportion, etc. But I still not fan of the Silvered timer subdial, which detract the hands for easy reading. And make the dial too busy.

Its a pity you did not post a wrist shot of the regular edition in different lighting....would love to see the legibility rate.

One question : what is the lug width? I really hope its 20 mm, not some odd 19 or 21 mm.

In the future, I wish JLC could upgrade the movement with simple feature : the ability to stop (on/off) the alarm at any time, just like Tudor advisor, seiko bell matic, and omega memomatic. You know, sometimes we want to stop the alarm while its ringing, if we don't want to annoy anybody around us....

Thanks for spending effort to write the review.

Jaeger Lecoultre Master Control Memovox Timer: An in-depth and on the wrist review.

 By: amanico : September 1st, 2020-00:05
After a first introduction made some weeks ago, let's come back to the new Memovox, called Master Control Memovox, and most specially the Memovox Timer, now that I could test it for some ten days. Indeed, the press files and official pictures are not accu...

Great in depth review Nicolas...

Very detailed and I really liked the history and pictures of the older models. I am sure this new model is very beautiful and to the highest quality but personally I find the dial a bit to busy, there is too much going on especially compared to the boutiq...

Superb read !.. Very much in depth review and splendid pics, as always.. Actually I like it, a lot, but the price level is quite steep.. Nevertheless,..

.. I will go and try to have a hands on experience at my Boutique,( although I guess it will be tough to get one, anyway). My only Sorry is -as also mentioned by you - the rather short power reserve, 70 would have been great ! The date is no deal breaker ...

Nico, you mention that the alarm chimes lower.

Do you mean the volume is lower (compared to the previous edition), or the "note" is lowered, but same volume?

Great, many thanks, my friend [nt]

Thanks for that, Seb. [nt]

The E875 is the most muted, understandable because of the age. The boutique edition sounds much louder. The Timer is richer. I still prefer the boutique edition because of the sound, but the new case is much nicer. Tough decision

Fantastic, detailed, insightful review! Thank you. I am a fortunate owner of this limited edition. Mine unfortunately needed to be returned to JLC immediately as the hour hand did not align with the hour marker precisely. The alarm also rang approx 15 min...

My pleasure. [nt]

and I have mixed feelings about this ... or maybe, to be honest, I am overemphasizing small things to justify I won't buy it as the price is too high in my opinion ;-) Pros: - the case: very modern and well proportioned. Feels great on my wrist and really...

Fantastic review, sir.

Thoroughly enjoyed it and the accompanying pics. A quick aside on the Reverso Rouge -- owned that watch for about a year and loved the execution of the dial, but ultimately found it a too-big Reverso. This is perhaps due to the fact that I've worn and got...

Fantastic report. I love the dial but the white date is a killer but not a deal breaker

Sorry for going off track in this thread. Quick question Nico. I see you said one of the movements where you had to go from 10pm to 3 am and back again to change the date. Do you know if I can do this with my 1680 red rolex instead of going through all th...

Great review. Initial press pics had me not liking it. Nothing like real world pics to appreciate the depth of the dial. And it becomes even more alive when the sun hits it..

This may sound silly but I was wondering if they ever thought about making the parking meter concept more relevant by repurposing it to time how long we should be washing our hands, for example, in light of what's currently happening. Of course, I can und...

As you say lots to like with it. interesting configuration & think your reservations pretty much in the right ball park. I think the price is a little challenging, but then there only 250 of them. The really good news is that in 2020, we can still have a ...

Well written and great review of the watch.

I find the blue on the peripheral to be a throwback to the older JLCs ... a kind of a throwback to their lineage ... I’m ok with a 12 hour alarm ... this day and age we all have smart phones anyway. An alarm from the JLC will just frighten the wife thinki...

Superb review Nicolas.

You are obviously best placed to provide an opinion on this watch. From where I sit, neither familiar with the brand that much nor the history of this specific line, you provided some very helpful context. I do think the alarm complication could be one of...

Thanks for you comments, Jay. I do agree with you on the fact that the alarm is one of the most useful complication, as well as the GMT for a Traveler. And it is much more class and pleasant to wake up with your watch!

 By: amanico : September 7th, 2020-13:22
I also agree with you on the date... Not a deal breaker, but it would have truly been better without. Thanks, Jay. Best, Nicolas
